About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

Great time and nice course
Played early 6:50 tee off with 2 other golfers, no wait . Very warm day and finished by 10:15. Many tees moved up so the course played very short and easy. Course is in very good shape and greens speed just about normal for Smithtown G C
Issues with the way they run the course.
I have played Hundreds of different golf courses and this is the first course that does not take a credit card, you have to pay in cash or check. They have an ATM machine at the counter where they charge you a $3.00 fee to pull out the cash. This is your first impression of the course. The second is the driving range is a joke, third is the gas carts are the slowest I ever seen. The course itself is OK for a town course.
Do Not Play on a Friday or Weekend
they book their tee times too close together. I played yesterday (friday) at 2pm. I left @ 4:30 having only played 7 holes. At least 20 min wait on each tee box. They were good enough to give back 1/2 the money I spent though.
The course is a very fair course and was in fine shape..
I had a wonderful time Sunday playing this course.
It was fathers day,so the pace of play was quite slow,however overall conditions and staff contributed to a wonderful late afternoon.

First time played on this course. Very nice well maintained course. Good deal on Golfnow Terrible pace of play from the second hole on. Four hours through 12 holes and the course did nothing about it. I know it was Father's Day Weekend which is always tough but this was ridiculous.
Credit Cards and Concessions
Smithtown Landing does not accept credit cards for either your greens fees or food and drink (if you can even get that) The food and drink hut (between 3/4 and 12/13) has not been open yet and the halfway stop has been closed when I was on the turn (around 2pm). The course is well maintained and is nice to play, but better food/beverage service and accepting credit cards in the year 2013 should not be too much to ask for.

Eventhough it rained all day the greens were pretty well kept! Nice challenging course.

allowed foursome of kids playing very slow and fooling around. Ranger on course never approached them
Go play somewhere else
This place was a waste of time and money. The "practice range" is a joke, the facilities for the price are sub par, and the pace of play is excruciatingly slow. I won't come back. Also they don't take credit card.
Not bad, good value, interesting holes, shortish, small greens
Quite a few blind shots, no directional bias from the tees. A 200 - 150-100 stake in the middle of the fairway would be helpful. Small greens, some cool contours, interesting holes in general. As a whole, it was okay. I wouldn't rush up there to go play, but a decent outlet in a pinch. Rich

Smooth greens. Courteous staff. Good value for the money (the measurement above would not allow to read above average). Well worth the trip
This Course is Super / Excellent.
Our foursome enjoyed ourselves immensely. The course is in excellent condition - Tees, Fairways, & Greens. Staff were helpful and the pace was comfortable. Only issue was price - as non-residents we paid $55 each (less the GolfNow Discount). I can't wait to return.
Tough greens!
Stay below the hole or you will get in trouble!! Lots of two-tier greens make for a challenging day with the putter!
Interesting layout
Range - small irons only
Course is hilly. Tough to tell overall conditioning in april when it is so cold that grass will not grow. Layout was interesting. Front plays shorter than the card's yardage as long holes were all downhill. A few short par 4s offer opportunities to attack.
Wind may be significant factor as it is off the water.
Great challenging course.
Greens were quick and tough to read, course moved at good pace, lots of fun with dog lefts and dog rights, and very hilly - hit a hill the right way, get a roll and then admire your distance off the tee (lol!).
very good course and well maintained fairway and green.
this is a course which you will find a lot of fun to play. fairway has a lot of ups and downs, and doglegs. however, if you can drive long and pretty acurate, the second shot will be very easy. the green is pretty fast with challange. definately a course worth of going back!
