Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

Course in great shape
Beautiful course conditions but backed up on every hole . Too long to play a round
Nice town course
The course is in great shape. They have a great kids program so there are always kids on the course. I take my daughter here to play the par 3 course. Nice set of par 3's on the 18 hole course. Very unique 18th hole. Severe dog leg left with a severe elevation drop.
Afternoon Delite
Played in early afternoon; course was not crowded. Course is fairly hilly, so try to play to flat spots. This gives you best chance to hit the small greens.
Course is in very good shape.
Great course. Nice staff
Great round of golf. Had a group of 4 and we would definitely all head back. Friendly helpful staff and a fun challenging course
The course was excellent.
we found the course very challenging, hilly and the fairways sloped . we were paired with two very good golfers who knew the course. without their help we would be still be out there.greens were excellent.
Hidden Gem!!
One of the best courses I've played on Long Island, would definitely recommend this course to anyone and would play this course again in a heartbeat!!!!
a nice father's day round
A great experience overall-- only real negative was a lack of food/beverage service. The facility at the turn was closed, which was surprising. Greens were a good challenge and overall conditions were very good for a muni course
Very nice, playable course
The course was in very good shape, especially considering it had rained earlier in the day. We had very few wet areas and were able to drive carts through the fairways.
Course are both challenging and extremely entertaining to play
The course is very enjoyable to play to average and low handicap golfer. I have to give a lot of credit to the course superintendent and maintenance staff for keeping the course in great shape especially the greens. The snack stop need some upgrade in terms of better look and presentation Overall I love playing here and definitely will be back to play again.
Great course
For a town course this is one of the nicest course ever played will be back for sure. The course is in GREAT shape
Smithtown landing 4/23
The course was in good shape , greens still had holes from air rading. But all and all we had a good round.
Blind golf
Major problem is that if you don't know coarse then you are playing a lot of blind shots.they need illustration of the holes on score card.not sure where to place next shot.
Wonderful Course
Smithtown Landing is a beautiful course in Smithtown and, while it's open only to residents and their guests on weekends, being a non-resident wasn't an issue with the GolfNow reservation. The practice facilities are lovely, with two massive greens available for practice, which were well-kept. The driving range is very short and steeply uphill, so it's mostly useful for warming up, as opposed to dialing in distances. The staff was very friendly throughout my time at the course, moreso than most of the other courses in the area. The course itself was well-kept and clean. I would definitely say, though, that this course has a fairly steep learning curve for those new to playing here. There were a lot of blind tee shots as well as shots that had brought big trouble into play without making it really obvious, so local knowledge and prior experience will definitely make a big difference in your game here. The conditions were very much fine, the course is extremely clean and well-tended to. The greens were slower than what one would like, but pretty much in line with most of the area courses. Pace of play was an issue, for sure. Ours was a threesome (for most of the round), so we were waiting on most holes, but the round definitely took longer than it should have irrespective of that. Otherwise, this is a really nice course and is easy to recommend.
Did not enjoy this course
Course was in good shape for the time of year, but every green had two holes, which became a nuisance after a while....driving range left a lot to be desired, the whole thing was on a downhill slant and only irons were allowed....maintenance crew was filling and creating new holes on the greens while I was chipping and putting with no regard for what I was doing. Will not play here again unless it is a much more discounted price.
This course has many challenging holes for all levels
Golfers of all levels will enjoy this course. The views were also great. Up and down holes make you use every club in the bag. Greens were in good condition for this time of year.
Good course and maintain good.
Like the course but for golfnow customer no credit card payment. Only cash or check for golf now customer. Lucky I bring enough cash for another 2 some. Don't know why the course except credit card only for their customer?
Love this course, this course makes you really think hard.
Really a fun day.
Slick greens, tight fairways and long par 3s. Only complaint was the customer service at the halfway house when ordering hotdogs....she did not want to be there.
Great condition, fairways and greens
Be sure to bring cash no credit or debit, over all in nice shape for public course
