About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

Enjoyed the course. Pace of play was fine. Conditions of the green were good.
A very nice course
It was a wonderful fall day to go out and play. The conditions of all parts are the course were very good for this late in the season.
The greens were very tough as they did not hold your shot, were very fast down hill and slow going up hill.
The bar looked nice but was closed.
The course has plenty of interesting holes with club selection off the tee box being key as it is not that long.
Would play here again and recommend it to people.
Great Golf Course
Scenic golf course in great condition. Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff. One of the Best public courses I've played.
JUST TO LONG
SLOW!!!!!!
JUST UNDER 6 HOURS TO PLAY, I DO NOT PLAY THERE MUCH. THE COURSE ITSELF IS NOT BAD AT ALL. IT S A TOWN COURSE AND YOU GET ALL GRADES OF GOLFERS, MOST NOT SO GOOD. AND THERE IS NO RANGER.
It's fine
Played from the tips since its a short course. There were parts of the course, not on the fairways but sometimes on the first cut, where they just let the crab grass take over. Fairways and tee boxes in good conditions. Greens in great shape. Challenging for a first timer because of the many blind shots. I would play again if invited to play there but I wouldn't invite someone to play and suggest that course. The back nine has some pretty holes and there was a long par five in the front that I found fun to play cause I can hit long.

Golf on a great course
This course is not long but you have to hit the right shot to score well.the golfer are very friendly and make it an enjoin able day

Had a great game. Played with pleasant golfers. Course was challenging, beautiful and pace of play was moving.
Slowwwww
Pace of play is too slow- 5 hr round. There was a tree service there chopping down a giant tree & we got covered in saw dust. Sprinklers turned on while we were putting. Not an enjoyable day.
Boulders in the Inconsistent Sand Traps
There were 2 pound boulders of rocks in the Sand Traps. The traps were also inconsistent with one trap with a six inch bed of sand and the next with 1/4" of sand atop hard pan. The course is also a bit pinched with cart paths designed where you drive directly in front of tee boxes. Dangerous. Plenty of blind tee shots makes it a bit of an adventure for first time players.

A nice challenging course which I was able to play in 4 hours.
Very Nice
Very nice course. Very good playing conditions. Slow play - not sure what the ranger was doing. You're not allowed to drive your cart to the irons-only driving range which is down a long hill - not sure why that is.
Undulations two tier putting
Enjoyable course, played from white tees, which helps because of tight fairways, used a lot of long irons. Played little slow due to crowd on this day but still finished at 5hours. Would recommend and cannot wait to play again. Staff is friendly, has a range to loosen up, course obviously drains well, prior two days had heavy rain, with no residue. Greens are tough putting and exciting due to two tier/undulations and elevated greens.

I have played the course several times and I always find it in good shape and challengeing

Nice course , there are a few blind shots . Don't know if it's available but wish I had a course book. Also no pictures of each hole at tee boxes . Challenging for a shorter coarse placement a must off the tee . Very slow greens could be the time of year will try again in a few weeks
Very Good value!
The overall pace of play was good for a change .the greens were a little slow but weren't too bad.Over all value was good.
NIce course; poor facilities
The course plays well but the facilities were poor. No course design on the back of the score cards or on the Tee boxes. Half way house was closed even though we were told at the Pro Shop that it would be open. Badly maintained driving range not to mention extremely old range balls.
