GREAT OVERALL
Challenging and very good layout. Every hole different.
Improved Conditions
Course is usually well maintained. Onslaught of golfers post pandemic challenged the upkeep and a July round was less enjoyable. Yesterday the conditions were back to pre COVID quality.
Pricing
I first attempted to contact the pro shop to make a reservation but they had just closed for the day and a recording advised making a reservation through Golf Now. One in our party was a resident and the others were seniors. Green fees are typically $25 (resident) and $34 (senior). The only green fee offered by Golf Now was $41 per golfer. Had I waited for the pro shop to open the desired reservation time would no longer have been available. I had hoped to reconcile the additional fee when I checked in but was told the matter was between me and Golf Now. Using Golf Now cost our party an additional $30.
Best value dollar for dollar in Long Island.
Great and friendly staff from the start. Well maintained course from the tee to the greens. Then add value as a public course, half the price of Wind Warch. My favorite course in Long Island.
Very slow play
Waited on every shot. Too many foursomes to complete in 4.5 hours. Had to leave due to darkness
Will not be returning
Hello, thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for the delay of play during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and will use your comments as guidance in doing so. Thank you for playing Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
“Rude Staff”
Very rude guy in the pro shop, the starter wasn’t helpful when I asked questions about the course being it was my first time playing there. No cart girl and I seen the ranger once in 18 holes he was needed to speed up play in front of us. Overall the course is in beautiful shape worth the money I’ll be back to try the west course next spring. I shot 75 from the blues on the East course today !
