Mohansic Golf Course

the course was in great shape. not a leaf in sight. tee to green was manicured.
when the traps are completed it will be awesome

I live not far from Mohansic and have played there 10 or so times in the last year. I think the charges are a little high as are the charges for all Westchester County courses. I do love the GPS units in cart.
The course is reflect for me, I shoot 100 routinely and I think it is challenging for me and yet fun. Long par 4 and 5, great rehabbed bunkers and greens and a few easier holes.
The driving range is pretty good and they have an excellent putting green and a nice chipping green also.
Usually there is water on the course but not this time and I was dry by the time we got to 9.
My favorite holes are 8, a long par 4. 15, a long uphill par four that a very challenging, 12, a long down hill par 4 that can be confidence building and 3 which starts uphill and really requires a good drive over a blind hill then a lucky roll.
There has been a temporary hole between 2 & 3 so that 7 can be worked upon.

Book early to get a good time.

PLAY IT FORWARD

Fairways and Greens are nice but the sand traps need some serious attention.. Sand has not been raked and fluffed all summer, like hitting out of wet concrete

Definitely a walkable course, with most of the hill climbing coming on the front nine. Many blind approaches possible. Must, must, must keep your ball below the hole when hitting onto the green. I've seen the slightest tap from 10 feet above a hole go as far past. A great challenge for the average golfer without being overly frustrating.

Course has a nice layout with fairways and greens in very nice shape.

My reservation was made as a single player, with the intent of meeting up with and enjoying "other" golf players. Hit the jackpot! As the "others" were low handicappers and complete gentlemen. This, I must admit, is just what the doctor ordered. This elevated my game, learned some valuable tips and couldn't of had a more fun round.

played on a saturday afternoon (3:00 tee time) and took almost 5 hours to play was my only negative. course was in good shape greens even better, My first time there and staff was very helpfull except for no ranger.

a couple of tee boxes could use some tlc but in general course (public) in rather good shape. one hole closed for repairs but replacement hole very acceptable. played in the afternoon and pace of play was marvelous under 4 hrs even after allowing a single to play thru.

Nice course but a number of areas under repair including the entire 5th hole. Sands traps looked to be in very poor condition.

Over all a very nice day. Disapointed halfway house was closed, could have used something to eat and drink!

what a well maintained golf course. greens played well for the 98+ temps, cut just right. My partner and I can't wait to come back and play another round.

It is always a pleasant experience playing Mohansic. The staff is extremely friendly and cordial which is not always the case at a number of public courses. The course itself was in very good shape as it usually is. I believe it is the most challenging of all of the Westchester Municipal Courses and it provides a good test of a golfers ability.

This is an average Municipal Course in decent shape.

Be advised you will start your round with rude staff. Course is good with some challenging holes.

Course is in good condition, fairways are narrow. Some bare patches in rough. Quite a few blind tee shots, good to have mapping on carts. Hilly course with raised greens, can be walked but would recommend cart. Halfway house, but no refreshment buggy.

Course was in great condition. Greens were above average. Because it's a municipal course, it gets lots of play and unfortunately, many golfers don't repair ball marks on the green. But other than that, A+. It's fairly long. Many holes 400+ yards, so you need to be strong of the tee. A great layout with a lot of elevation changes. I highly recommend playing this course.

Summary says it all. Very challenging course but not impossible to have a good round. Lots of hidden greens.

Overall the course was a nice change. There were several difficult pin positions and the greens were in decent condition. The fairways were a little spotty and have not grown in yet. Its the type of course that would be best to play again, there were several blind shots and holes that will be remembered next time.
