Forest Park
Underrated course in St. Louis. Above average conditions for courses in St. Louis, especially given the amount of play this course gets. Course is very fun to play with a different flavor on each nine. The only thing this course could benefit from is a starter or on-course ranger to encourage faster play.
Great new lay out
I learned to play on this course. This is the first time I played on it after the redesign. I can not wait to play it in the summer when the trees are green and the fairways are green. Greens rolled very fair for early spring late winter conditions.
Pretty good municipal
I live close to the park and play here all the time. Conditions could be better but it's a fun time.
Enjoyable experience
I always enjoy playing golf at Forest Park. It's a beautiful area, nice course and an overall great experience.
First Time
This was my first time on this track. This is a fun layout and really something that a lot of folks can enjoy. The greens were a little wooly, but its mid-November so its hard to complain about the greens. The layout is nice and friendly. We played the Hawthorn 9 and it was pleasant. The fairways were excellent, and the 9th hole is beautiful. I will be back to play a full 18 next time, and maybe 27 who knows!
Scenic plus lots of fun
The course layout is good and the conditions are good. The real treat of this golf course is the constant availability of scenic views. Start with the lush forests and beautiful trees, follow that with beautiful ponds and lakes. If that isn't enough there are portraits of the St. Louis Art Museum that are magnificent. Lastly a white tailed fox trotted across the fairway.
I played with local residents who knew lots of historical aspects of Forest Park and it made for a wonderful day of golf.
Forest Park Red Bud Course
The course was in great condition and greens fees were very reasonable. I look forward to coming back again.
Great Round!!!
The course was in great shape. I enjoyed my round here!!
Cannot beat the course for the money
The course was in excellent condition and the staff was great. The course can be a little confusing if it is your fist time so make sure you are paying attention to the signs
Warm
Just wish we had a driving range to warm up with. Nothing fancy.
Doing a good job with the course
Anybody who's local has played this course before, probably a number of times. I've been playing it for 25 years and i have to say they are doing a great job with it. Ever since they did the renovation, 10-15 years ago, I always think the course is in good shape, ESPECIALLY considering what I have to believe is a huge amount of play. It seems they have a ton of tournaments here and just get a lot of players in general. The tee box conditions are very good, as are the fairways. I've played some higher-end local courses that are not in any better condition than Forest Park. The greens are also pretty good, again, especially considering the large amount of play they get. Dogwood and Redbud are the two 9's that incorporate quite a few of the "old" holes. I will say that, although it's in nice shape too, I'm not a huge fan of the Hawthorne 9, as it's a bit flat and straight but that's just my personal preference. Keep maintaining the course the same way please!!
good for all players.
We always enjoy playing Forest Park courses.
Just airified Greens
They got me out quickly, and staff was great. I was able to play a speed round, as the weather called for rain, and scared everyone else off.
I am assuming the greens had been airified with in the last week or two. They were really slow and hard to judge. Reading them was very hard as everything looked beige. I hope in a few more weeks or a month when I come back the green conditions are much improved. I realize the necessity of maintenance, and it's not necessarily a knock on the course. I just hope they are doing the proper work to make the rest of the season better. If so, then I am happy with everything.
Fantastic weather day for December!
Great weather, course in +good shape, but very slow play!
A good day at forest park
A little slow but nice day to be out there. Great round for the price.
Top tier course but lots of tournys
Great course, perfect location, phenomenal fairways and greens. Top tier course, with a top tier price, my only real issue is the availability, they run so many tournaments, it is hard to get on for 18 on the Dogwood and Redbud courses.
Golf in Forest Park
Had a great day, Course is in good shape, only a few rough spots. The new traps and ground under repair on certain holes is understandable. I like the additions as it will make the course play a little tougher. Greens were in good shape. A tournament ran through earlier and the greens were marked up a bit but that is usual.
Overall Forest Park is a good value and in nice shape.
