The Wigwam Arizona
About The Wigwam Arizona
Located in the West Valley near Phoenix-Scottsdale is one of Arizona's most historic golf resorts, Wigwam. Set on 440 acres, this village-style resort features three 18-hole golf courses, including two designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., most notably the famous Gold Course. The resort features 331 casitas and suites with large private patios and several resort pools, including a new 25-foot water slide tower. The resort-style golf courses are more parkland in nature than surrounding desert courses and feature palm trees and water hazards sprinkled throughout. There are four dining concepts, led by the signature Litchfield's Restaurant serving local farm-to-table cuisine, while there is Red's Bar & Grill for casual fare and the Wigwam Bar, which is the social epicenter of the resort. Recreation outside of the 54 holes of golf is nine lighted tennis course and two regulation bocce-ball courts, sand volleyball, bike rentals and yard games.Facts

Wigwam
First played course 30+ years ago. Turf and greens best ever. Maintenance is A 1 .
Always a fun golf outing
Wigwam Blue has a good reputation and it didn’t disappoint. We play it every year when we visit. Nice free practice green and driving range. We played in 3-1/2 hours. Staff were friendly and pro shop displayed many new and beautiful golf items. Highly recommend.
👍😎
Had a buddy with me and got a discount on GolfNow which made playing here that much more enjoyable.
Course from tees to greens were very good condition, pace of play was also good.
I would recommend this course.
Golfer with 6 handicap index GHIN
played on Feb 2, 2025 New carts with GPS, nice club house, nice cart paths green healthy grass in fairway, nice tee boxes. Felt like 9.5 stimp greens, very short flat blue course, dome greens, Red easy play, Blue next easy and Gold course is most challenging; played JONES COMBO 6373 Yards. 4-hour round.
Top Tier
I’ve played all the courses at Wigwam but this was my first time playing Red. Red course is the most forgiving to me but was still fun for my buddy who is a legit scratch player. All conditions at Wigwam are great on all courses. This is one of my favorite places to play in the PHX metro and is always a great value.
Tee to green, the course was great
the greens however were hard and wouldn't hold. In my opinion if the greens aren't receptive then they shouldn't be cut so short.
Bad Experience
We had a tee time at 9. After some practice we went to the #1 tee and were told there's an hour delay because of frost. The starter said the clubhouse should've told us when we checked, in, which they didn't. Not a good start. The course is in good shape. I don't think it was an elite course especially for $160/person. We played the Blue Course. I'm on the fence if I would go back after the bad experience with the gour delay.
Wigwam red course golf experience
Great course to play for the 1st time. Greens were excellent along with the fairways which were in very nice condition! Would definitely recommend this course to anyone.
Tricky Greens
This course appears to be fairly easy when you look at the yardage. But... greens were moderately fast and pin placements made putting difficult with pins cut in very nasty positions. Played this course twice in the last month, and pin placements today made greens treacherous as compared to previous rounds. Downhill puts left little margin for error. Course is in excellent condition. Pace of play was slow but understandable due to frost delay which backed up all t times.
Good course for all abilities. 18th hole is a very strange finishing Par 5. Course was wetter than I would expect. Greens rolled true.
Even after a frost delay this morning, we got out only about 20 minutes late and finished right under 4 hours. I would play here again.
