Great Value!
Great course for the price! Nice course, low traffic, and great value for a course on Jekyll Island. Will play again!
Indian Mound
All in all, a good course. It was pretty busy and we were waiting on 2 groups ahead of us on the entire back nine. Again, it was a descent course.
Driving to Orlando
Stopped to play on the way home to Orlando and thought we would give it a shot.
Great staff and amenities but course was a little disappointing. Lots of bare areas, mushy fairways, and overall way to many bad lies in places there should be grass.
Indian Mound Jekyl Island
We had scheduled our tee time on Oleander which was closed the day we played so we were moved to Indian Mound. The course is not in very good condition. The greens have tufts of invasive grass and the fairways are spotty. However, the layout is nice and the environment very pretty.
Nice scenery
Very nice course. Seems to be wet quite a lot of the time. We had Cart Path Only and that was a real drawback. I would almost not even play when it is Cart Path Only.
Fun round
It was cart path only, so it was a little wet and played a bit slower. But the greens were good and it was pretty wide open.
Never again
The past three years in a row there has always been some issue regarding play. This time, after prepaying and driving 200 miles for a weekend trip, we were told day of that no carts would be allowed due to recent rain. Not only would any other course just do cart path only, but there were carts driving all over the other courses for spectators during a tournament. The posted signs said no carts on any course, and our prepay said it included carts. Walking would not be an option for two members of our group for health reasons, and again, there were carts all over the other courses. On top of the the range was closed for the whole day. The last straw was the staff, who was incredibly rude when we asked them about it. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
Oleander, Jekyll Island
Nice layout, but virtually no grass in the fairways. Overseed has not grown in. Greens are painfully slow..
Overrated
Saw the course was a 4 star “golf resort” and only being an hour away I figured I’d give it a try. Pull up to the bag drop and unloaded our clubs while 2 employees sat about 10’ away watching instead of grabbing them for us. Driving range was closed so no warm up balls. Tee boxes were thin and overgrown. Fairway grass was average, although wet from rain this week but what can you do. Greens were the worst part of the whole experience. Slower than Christmas and you couldn’t differentiate them from the fairways. Pace of play was also slow for the front as we were stuck behind a couple foursomes of hacks rolling the ball from one side of the fairway to the other. Was able to book the round for $35 a person but would never pay that much again to play there. Also important to note you must pay $8 a car for a parking pass for Jekyll Island. Not saying it’s the worst I’ve ever played but there is much nicer courses available for the money.
Great Greens!
The course was in great shape. The Greens are fast and well taken care of. The set up of each hole is fun with some challenges. Great place to play and enjoy a good round of Golf.
Lots of doglegs
None of the Jekyll Island courses have completely recovered from Irma damage, but the damage is most visible on this course. The layout is nothing outstanding, with a few interesting holes. Lot of doglegs and a fair amount of water on the course.
