This was my 2nd Jekyll
Will be back to play the Pines next and combo it with the Dunes. Everything was as I anticipated a beautiful somewhat challenging course amongst the trees. You would not know there was civilization around you. If you are looking for serenity and a great day out this is the place to go
Great course
Overall great course. Greens were a little hard this early in the year but were still good for putting. Presents a fun challenge and great views.
bad greens
Course layout is nice but green conditions are bad. Pace of play is slow. Starter sent me off back 9 as i was a single and moved right around only to find 20 players lined up on one. I was offered to play out on Oleander but after 13 holes came to a stop ( got some extra golf but was not my goal). So i headed back over to finish my round on Indian. After 6 holes guess who? the large group i found on one.
Great outdoor escape
Wonderful scenery and excellent weather on this day. Beware of the wildlife - gators, snakes, turtle, and deer observed on this golf outing. Course is in good shape.
Pace of Play Was Unbearable
Although this was a nice enough course, I wouldn't return unless I was assured that they got a ranger on this part of the course. Oleander is adjacent to Pine Lakes and The Mounds, and I believe they might have rangers. We had such a slow foursome about 3 groups ahead of us that there were 3 empty holes by the time we reached hole #10. We gave up after 13 or 14 holes and went to the clubhouse in disgust.
Indian Mound
Great Pro shop and driving range. Beautiful fairways and challenging greens.
Great courses
Great courses part of Georgia state parks. Play all three 18 hole courses and don't forget the 9 hole Dunes course.
Nice
Staff could care less about you, no personality at all. HOWEVER, the course was in good shape, nice lay out and we "owned" it on a Thursday, no-one in front or behind us. We took our time, took plenty of pics of all the gators and scenery. for $16-25 I'd say its a great deal.
good course but greens in poor shape
staff cut greens way too short for college tournament earlier in March and most are left dry/burnt with little to no grass and lot of sand on them. Will take a while to get this course back to decent shape. Most greenskeepers are moving towards bragging about fast greens and this new guy is a perfect example of what can happen when he trips over his own enthusiasm..Let the grass grow !!
The condition of this course is a shame
This is a Donald Ross design updated by Dick Wilson. I didn't realize until I started that I had played there before. The previous round, several years ago, was much more enjoyable. The starter didn't know or seem to care what pin position they were using that day. The fairways were extremely thin, with what appeared to be some sort of top-dressing that made good lies rare. The greens weren't too bad, where there was grass. It seemed to me like they just didn't care.
Wonderful highly recomended
Golf was great, staff very friendly and helpful, plus the grill was reasonable. All of these things made for a great experience!
Pretty Course, Great Value for Area
Course was in good condition. Pretty scenery, somewhat challenging, nice restaurant, good food and nice staff. Would definitely play again. They have three courses same location, would try another one.
NICE COURSE
FAIRWAYS--SOSO-EARLY IN SEASON
GREENS WERE FINE
great golf
Outstanding course, can be difficult with all the sand traps that protect the greens. Very enjoyable course and highly recommend.
Wet, wet, and soggy
It rained on Monday, we played on Saturday. Course was a swamp.
We had 90 degree rule with carts, but this course is a muddy mess.
Great course
First t time I played the course and would definetly go back.Challenging but fair. Course in very good condition considering time of year.Great value
Good course
First time here. Cart path only made for a long day along with some walkers. Good test for all golfers with the different tee boxes. Will play again when in the area.
First time played
Nice layout and enough tees (seven) for any level of golfer. Greens were in good condition. Will play there again.
Jekyll Island Pine Lakes
Great price point for this course. Even though the weather was cooler and wetter than normal, the course was in good shape and well maintained. Aesthetically, the Jekyll courses are all beautiful.
Value for the$
Played golf with 11 yo soon. Extra tees for youth are great.
