Great experience!
We come here once a year and always play here. The coarse is well designed with sand traps strategically placed amongst the fairways and around the greens. Coarse is a must play for any golfer no matter the experience level. Staff is amazing as well!
Jekyll Island (Pine Lakes), Georgia
The course was in very bad condition. You could not putt the greens due to bare spots and black fungus on most of the greens. I would inquire about the conditions of the greens before I played this golf course. Very disappointing!!!
My lucky day
Had to wait on the driving range for four deer to cross. Ran into deer at close range on several holes. Eagle circled me close overhead on No. 12. Have seen gators, tortoises, snakes and other critters previously. I played Indian Mound course alone on Memorial Day when I thought it would be packed. Foursome graciously let me pass on No. 2 and I had it to myself afterward. Played in less than three hours, in perfect weather and for $18. Doesn't get much better, even though I didn't play my best golf. Course will get your attention, without frustrating you. Play it.
Great value for the money
Many of the greens were in very rough shape. When they are in that condition it just adds about a half dozen strokes to your game
Oleander
Played 27 on Oleander. Probably the most scenic of the 63 holes on Jekyll Island Great deal on an early morning tee time. Very peaceful.
A very good time
My brother-in-law and his wife were in town for a few days to golf. We live in Statesboro Ga and were unsure of traveling so far to Jekyll Island. We were not disappointed. The condition of the course was very good. The fairways were lush and well to play on. Greens were in good condition and large enough for average players. Fairways were wide and easy to play. Making plans already to return and spend more time on the island and this course. Would recommend to anybody.
Nice Course To Play
Friendly staff, good deal. Short course with wildlife all around you, very cool. Fairways in really nice conditions. Greens were small, slow, and rough, could use some work. Overall a nice round of golf worth playing.
Excellent course!
All three course at Jekyll islands are excellent I love playing there.
Resort Course
The course is excellent resort golfing. It has holes that are both tight and open. Ball placement is key. The Par 3s are distant. You have 3 that requires a shot over water. The wildlife are not bothered by golfers.
NICE ROUND OF GOLF
Course was in good shape, but a little wet. Ate at McCormick's Grill at the turn. Great food for lunch. Saw about 10 small white-tail deer on the course. Almost hit one:(
Golf
Great course. It was kinda busy because they where running a tournament, but it went well.
The course I always play at this historic getaway location
There are three 18 hole courses at this location, and all are in good shape with different challenges.
Beautiful scenic setting
The Course is always in great shape. With it being on the island and isolated from alot of traffic and people you will see wildlife on most of the holes. We saw several deer and several alligators. The area is so serine and peaceful. The course was lush and green. We played on a Saturday morning a little after 9:00 and we finished right at 4 hours. The course was full however everyone played fairly fast.
The course is definitely worth the drive.
Pinelakes
Nice course and a great day to play. The course is very Picturesque with a lot of abundant wildlife especially deer and alligators.
Mishit drives are a significant problems as the growth outside the rough is impossible.
A Great Day of Golf
My wife and I plus our adult daughter played on Sunday, our daughter's last round before flying home. We had a wonderful day at Jekyll. The courses are in great shape this year and the weather was bright and sunny (albeit somewhat chilly when not sheltered from a fairly strong NE wind). Pace of play was excellent but we still had time to enjoy the sights: alligators, turtles, birds, deer etc. We finished the day with a glass of wine in the sun on the deck of the Jekyll Island Club hotel (about a mile away but worth the visit). Overall, a superb day of golf!
Nice course.
Great place to play. Good grasses and greens. A joy to play.
wind swept
The course was challenging because of the wind and soft fairways .
Great conditions; Enjoyable round
Shop Assistant suggested that Pine Lakes was in the best condition of the three courses. It set a high bar! Fairways and greens were very nice, coming out of the winter months. Tees and bunkers were good. We were out early, so pace was fine. (Could have used a little bug spray for early hour.) Really enjoyed the round, and would definitely return to this one, and to try the other two.
Nice course, poorly marked, terrible communicatios
I played as a single with the first tee time of the day. Upon making the turn (in an hour) I found that the starter had put a tournament on the back nine. I was forced to move over to an adjacent course to finish my round and ended up playing behind a group of five.
I understand it is "resort golf" but a little communication would have gone a long way to insure good customer relations.
In addition, courses are very poorly marked. Make sure to take your range finder.
Great golf
Loved the course! Not only was it good golf, but the course is laid out for golf, not selling real estate. No houses or condos lining the fairways, no back on forth fairways. Just one beautiful hole followed by another.
Being able to walk, not being forced to ride a cart was an added bonus.
