Excellent Course
Staff, Starters were excellent to deal with. Course is and was in Excellent condition!
Looking forward to playing again!
Anniversary Round
We played here ten years ago where I proposed on the 18th Green. It was just as beautiful today as it was 10 years ago. Saw deer on multiple holes, herring and Red headed woodpeckers. Secluded and still green everywhere in late November. Hopefully it will be less than ten years before we return!
Tranquil
As a beginner, I find this course has less distractions than than other courses I have played. You almost never see houses or cars. But you do see wildlife and nature. We saw deer on almost every hole. This is quickly becoming my favorite course.
Pretty course
All was good except for the foursome 2 groups in front that was very slow until the last few holes when it started to get dark. -No ranger. Also the greens were not fast.
Pine Lakes
Fairways and greens were excellent. Only negative is cart path only for several more months to allow the new sod to take hold. Will wait till carts are allowed before playing again.
Really Good day on a Good course
Rate a 4.5 if available. Course has just reopened & in really good shape, tees to greens, even sand traps. Rough is penalizing. Greens in great shape. After fairways fill in & matures it will become really nice. Played on cloudy day, pace of play excellent. Prefer a lower green fee but being a resort course, probably not happening. Highly recommend especially if you can a good deal
Hurricane Helene
Course was decent. Hard to fairly rate considering Helene had passed through the area a week or so prior to playing.
Nice course other than the greens
Course was pretty nice and fun other than the greens. They were in pretty bad shape. Lots of weeds and bare patches. I played 2 days in a row and 1 day the greens were super slow, the next they were actually playable.
Enjoyable course
Always enjoy coming to Jekyll Island to play golf. I don’t forget you have to pay $10 to get on the island. Of course it was in good shape for this time of year of play was good.
Overall, good course
Overall, good course conditions were pretty good for the fall after a hurricane we had played in May and it was better but that’s to be expected of play was good. Not many people out at all always would recommend it. Just remember you have to pay $10 to get on the island though.
25 minute backup on the 1st tee. Starter letting people show up late (should make them skip first hole).
No marshalls on the course to ensure pace of play...almost 3 hour front 9!
Worst greens I've seen in decades. Weeds growing and bare spots everywhere.
Fairways are more sand than grass.
Was told by a member they aren't maintaining this course because it's about to shut down (back 9 turning into condos).
Save your money, don't play here if you enjoy golf.
A lot of interruptions with pace of play on the golf cart screen.
We complied with letting faster players pass thru. The Golf Cart would randomly stop even while on the Cart Path. Called into having the GPS system shutdown and the staff person was not very friendly, we were told that it could not be shutdown. When mentioned in discussion with her associate, she was told how to turn off GPS which made the game play easier.
Maybe will try it again, we will have to see.
Should pay the golfer to play.
I have been playing golf for over 50 years. I have probably played over 10,000 rounds in my life. The greens were in the worst shape I have ever seen a golf course. There were weeds on the greens, bare spots and actual ditches. The sand traps had grass growing in them. The fairways or a collection of weeds, dead grass, and bare spots. The course should be closed as it is unplayable.
Oleander
Oleander, where good drives, approach shots, and putts, go to die. Weeds everywhere, tee boxes, rough, fairways and greens. Terrible shape; we were told by the starter we were in for a treat…..it was a trick!
because the staff were told to let it deteriorate…they wanted to use the land for other purposes and merge the 9 hole course!
2 years ago the greens were perfect.
