Good Resort Course
Good course with receptive fairways. Greens in good condition. Some elevation changes to make shots challenging. Overcast on my day of play, but there are several holes that present iconic Maui views. A course I typically play at least once while here for vacation.
greens were difficult to read--especially speed
Lived up to it's rep with wide fairways. Difficult to get out of the grass in the short rough. The ball sinks down into this rough.
What's not to like?
Fairways and greens are in great shape. Wonderful views. Carts have GPS, and super friendly cart staff.
Nice course easy to play with wide fairways and nice views
This is the sister course of Royal Kaanapali. It is a little less interesting than Royal, but the greens are more interesting. They do have tees boxes at 5500 yards, so it gave me better option as a female rather than the shorter tees.
We enjoyed the day.
Nice course-wide fairways-some longer carrys off the tees.
Wider selection of tee boxes, but for ladies you are either stuck with short or 5800 yards for the length-you had to hit a good drive to carry some of the rough in front of the tees! The course was In good condition and pace of play was pretty good considering the amount of play they had going on.
The course is pretty wide open with just a bit of water-very playable.
We enjoyed our day.
Nice Course - Beautiful Views
Enjoyable to play...Nice pace of play and if you want to double loop it they have a great replay rate.
Hot, humid day. I'm glad they provided towels!
Very pleasant experience. As a single, they combined me with another couple at a much earlier time even though I paid twilight rates. Efficient staff. Pace of play was excellent - our 3-some finished in @ 3.5 hours, even with a 4-some I front of us.
Good set up of layout of holes.
Easy to keep ball in play but difficult around greens.
easy course
inside staff not so friendly. outside staff great, especially Jack.
Lovely course, had an enjoyable round, with good pace of play.
Course well maintained, and adequately challenging. Nice greens, except for the obvious recent sanding. The starter did an exceptional job of putting appropriate foursomes together.
Fun course
Course was fun to play, placing your tee shot was paramount, would have been nice to know when I booked this course that that had aerated the greens, but they rolled pretty good.
great course to test your skills
The course itself has a lot to offer...worth the money.... yes. But stay in one of the resorts near the course...that's the rate you wanna pay...wind plays a factor when playing but overall an enjoyable time..
Beautiful course with even better views!
I played both coarses and I liked the Kai because it seemed a little more forgiving. The staff was fantastic. They saw me walking from a nearby hotel and came with a cart to get me.
I love this course.
Kaanapali Kai is always a favorite course to play when I am on Maui. The course and greens are in great condition, and the staff is extremely friendly. I love this course!
Nice golf!
Beyond the gorgeous views, this course was a pleasure to play. Enough challenge with water and sand, yet friendly to the less skilled of us. Overall experience was awesome, we hope to get back to play again.
Greens were not in good condition. Pace of play was great. Did not see players in front or in back...
See above. Pace of play good. Greens were rolling about 7 or 8. It indicated 9, but they were bumpy...
A great day of golf
Fun course to play......greens need help.....need to be rolled...very bumpy...
Traps are good as are fairways and tees.....

Big name course - amateur operation
Booked a tee time for approx. 7:30.First problem occurred when they tried to charge us $125 after we had booked on golfnow for $99. (they did honour the 99 rate after I made an issue of it) I like to play early to ensure a less than four hour round which should not have been a problem with a wide open resort course such as this. (I am a 22 handicap and never had any trouble keeping the ball in play) Well, the round took 4 hrs and 45 minutes!!! Why? Two fivesomes were sent out ahead of fours, threes and twos. One of the foursomes had only three sets of clubs!!! Who allows this??? (not even the munis where I come from)Never a sign of a marshall anywhere on the course and a cart girl we saw only twice. For a course that normally charges around $200 a round, the level of service and effort in maintaining pace of play was abysmal. I will be taking my Hawaii golf dollar elsewhere in the future. Courses like the Dunes, Kahili, Pukalani offer better play, more interesting layouts and far better service.
Very nice
Beautiful course with many great views. Wide fairways and player friendly for intermediate golfers. Great deal if you can get it on golf now for around $100. Too expensive for the standard rack rate as you can play Kapalaua Plantation for about $15 more.
While most employees were very good, there is definitely an attitude and/or arrogance amount some.
Good course to play if you can get a deal.
Pretty wide-open course, but the winds can put a damper on your game if you're not used to it. Course was in great shape, but the greens seemed to be a little long which rolled really slow. They probably would've rolled better if I showed up on a day they had just been mowed. I'm not sure if I would play this course again and pay the regular rate. I would say 75% of your green fee goes towards the scenery. The scenery on many of the holes was great. The staff there was nice. If you get a good deal, I would recommend this course.
