About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

The course was in great condition. Greens, fairway and fringe could not be better.

Enjoyable
Thought that the Byrd Course was in the best shape we’ve seen in it quite a few years. We’ve been playing it quite a bit in the last several years.
Cart paths will bounce you around pretty bad. They are very rough and take away from an otherwise great experience.
We will certainly continue to play the Byrd Course, just wish at least some work would be done on the cart paths.

Enjoyable day of golf
Enjoyed playing this golf course today. Good layout. Need to work on bunkers. Tee boxes and fairways were average. Pace of play was very good.

Sea trails
Beautiful layout but they are not maintaining the property, course is in ruff shape, the fairway grass is sparse and the ruff is ruff. We played in 3.5 hours and never saw another golfer. I feel we were charged way too much given the condition of the course.

Bunkers like concrete
Almost no sand in the bunkers making bunker shots totally in predictable.

Poor condition
Course is in poor shape. Greens were slow and poorly maintained and fairways were spotty

No warming up & bad ruff
The course staff was friendly and the greens and fairways were in good shape. But there is no driving range, so you get no chance to warm up, which matter a lot to me, as I am recovering from an injury and need very much to warm up before I play. The fairways were decent, not terrific but playable. But if you got off the fairways by more than a couple of feet the ground was in bad shape. While some may say "well just stay on the fairway", I think most average golfer must be able to make a few shots a round from the rough. In this case the gravel, sand, and tree roots, but not much grass made it difficult to do that. So from the fairways every time and the greens, IT's a good course and great value, but since mere mortals every often must hit from the rough, it loses a few points in rating.
