About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

Excellent course
We played 3 courses on this trip and this was by far the best of the 3.
Tom at the pro shop was very friendly and enjoyable to speak with.
Corse was in great shape and a fun and very fair challenging course.
I may be a little bias on this because I shot my best round of golf in 5 years.
I shot a 76!!!!!
Making pats and birdies are very achievable and the greens ran very true.
My son had an off day but he also loved the course and said he'd like to get a chance to play it again sometime soon.
I would recommend this course over about 15 others on the strand that I've played.

Course conditions are lacking
First time playing and first one out! Twosome and we finished with in 3 hours because we move to a different back nine that was completely empty. They wanted us to play behind 4 groups causing us to wait. Double booking and forcing players to wait around to play the back side of their round is horrible. The second nine hand horrible conditions, but we managed to make due.

Byrd Sea Trail - Not Recommended
Greens - crab grass around the perimeter
Fairways - heavy debris still on course (granted, hurricane was a week ago); still, seems like better care could have been made or a reduction in greens fees.
Tee boxes - terrible, definitely shows a period of long neglect.
Sand traps- so bad, we took drops outside of them. Clearly not been raked or maintained for a week or more
Overall, a big disappointment; especially after a favorable day on its sister course, Rees.
Had looked at a VRBO after playing Rees on a future trip. Not happening!

Jones course
The front nine of Jones was fine. The back nine needs work. Cart guys and organization of carts needs improvement. Can’t drive anywhere without it being time to tee off. Far walk to range and putting green

Was a good course but poorly maintained
Good layout, greens were long, wet and slow. Grass on tees was sparse in most areas. Most cart paths were in need of repair. Ownership needs to put much more money into facility to attract the lower handicap player who wants fast challenging greens. On the scorecard they say there average pace of play is 4 hrs 30 mins. It appears ownership is catering to couples golfers with 20 plus index's

Sea Trail Newbie
Very good course conditions; clearly more hurricane Ian cleanup needed. Greens rolled true; fairways and tee boxes in good condition. Although we weee a two-some, behind a foursome the play of play was a bit slower than needed. Group in front off us was not keeping up with the group in front of them. All and all, a good day.

Sea trials NC
Excruciating 3:30 hour front nine. Gracious starter moved us to another nine for our back. Liked the course. Slow play really hurt my overall opinion.
