About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

Straight forward course in fine shape. Greens and traps well groomed.

Greens burning up
Some greens are in bad shape compared with last year. Still a good course and I would play again

Average low country course
Didn’t mind the layout, but the greens were inconsistent and the traps were as well. Also, the car patgs were really, really bad and needed major repair. It was jawing to drive on them.

Jones not Byrd
Was moved to the Jones course due to a tournament being on the Byrd course. Overall the course was in pretty good shape but many of the Bermuda greens had burned up spots. People were quite friendly and the pace of play was fine.

Worthwhile test
Nice track...scenic...fairways and greens in good shape, a few sand traps needed attention. Would play again.

Choose a different SeaTrails course
Worst greens I’ve ever played on in 54 years of golfing! Torn up cart path made treacherous riding. It’s clear that zero maintenance and upkeep is devoted to this track. Play Rees Jones instead, but steer clear of the bulldozer when they plow the Maples course under!😝😝

Jones Closed
Although booked on Jones we ended up on Byrd. Jones was hosting World Am. Some greens were burnt in places but ground around some of the greens was soggy. Overall course was in good shape and we pretty much had it to ourselves on a hot afternoon.

The no mow zone!
It was a beautiful Sunday morning… we arrived early hit a few balls..
Course layout is challenging, but friendly… greens were mowed, but were extremely slow and bumpy. On the jones course they have lost most of 7 and 16 green.. a big portion is just black dirt.
Fairways were not mowed and nor were tees… now I am not saying not mowed in a day or two.. I am saying you couldn’t tell the difference between fairway and rough. On multiple tees it was like teeing up driver in your front yard..

SO-SO
Played the Jones course. Nice layout. Fairways are in good shape. Front 9 conditions where better than the back 9. Poor trap maintenance. Tee boxes on the back 9 where wet, sloppy. Greens on back where stressed out. Paid $ 40.00 for green fee which is adequate for the course/conditions.

Overall course was Good to Very Good, Fairways were good, some greens were beat up, but still in good condition, some good challenging holes, will play again when down here

Nice course but unfriendly staff
The course was in good condition even though very wet. Greens were a little burned but still putted smoothly. However, I will probably not return due to the unfriendly and unwelcoming bag drop/starter staff, especially towards this solo female golfer!

Bad paths
Course was fine, greens very good. Staff super helpful and friendly. Cart paths in terrible condition.
