About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

Rough conditions
Course was a little sparse for grass on fairways and tee decks but it is winter. I guess you should expect that. Greens were mostly good but some a little rough. There was no amenities at the course.

Great course to play for first round of the year.

All good until the ending
The round was great, nice layout, conditions as good as you will get this time of year. Pace was great. We golfed in the afternoon and we finished almost a full hour before sunset. At the end of the round, before our 45 minute drive home, we needed to use the rest rooms. Back door locked, front doors locked and the worker cleaning the golf carts had no interest in helping us out. So a great day golfing, great value, but all we remember is dropping off the cart and rushing down the road to find some facilities. There were other golfers also still on the course so it was not like staff waiting just for us.

Greens poor
Course not bad but greens inconsistent and bumpy. Might be good in summer but I will not return during winter.

Nice layout, excellent place of play, marginal course conditions
Staff on arrival was very good and helpful. Pace of play was great and probably due to there being few golfers at the time we played.
Course layout was good and very fair from the white tees.
Course conditions were marginal at best. Tees and greens were in poor shape. Greens were very spotty and were bumpy and slow. I suspect this may have been due to recent very cold temperatures.
I would recommend to friends and would like to play again at some point but not under current conditions.

Don't waste your time nor money!!
Was so disappointed. Maples use to be a really good course. Don't waste your time nor money. By far the worse course we've played in the Sunset Beach through Myrtle Beach area as our group plays different courses each week. Cart paths are in disrepair. Best to ride down the middle of the fairway than experience the totally broken and bumpy cart paths. Total lack of maintenance throughout the course. Snack bar was closed. Talked with some members after the round and they said the pro, the superintendent , and several of the maintenance staff recently quit because owner wasn't putting any money into course. Will never play this course again.
