About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

Great layout. Cart paths rough on Byrd course. Love the Jones course. Could use improvement. Doesn’t look like owner is putting $$ into course.
Good Course
I liked the course and found it to be quite fair. If you can control your ball, you can score on this course.

Not bad for the time of year.
Greens were fast. They are dying off but not in bad shape and will hold a shot.. Fairways were good and the rough isn’t so bad that you can’t hit a shot from it.
Check the dying off comment. What I meant was that they are going dormant. My apologies.

Play the Jones Course
After playing the Jones course I was really looking forward to playing Byrd. I think I will play the Jones again but I won’t be playing Byrd again. Kinda boring honestly

Could be a great course
I am a 9 Handicap
I am 65
I play around 5 days a week.
Layout is very good.
Greens are fast and fairly true.
Bunkers are exceptional.
Tee boxes are a combination of Bermuda rough and sand.
Rough is knarly 2 inch Bermuda where your ball falls down, so as to be hard to find and hard to advance.
Fairway is the rough grass, but shorter.
The greens are the fairway grass, but shorter.
Probably the time of year, but many fairways were brown (time to overseed?)
Seems like courses want to raise prices cuz of Covid, but don't want to put the money back in the course.
Put money into this place, and it could be a non-inflated 4.5!

It’s okay in a pinch
Played Rees Jones course at Sea Trail 6 months ago. I was expecting the same level. Jones course is a better track.

Pandemic Play Pleasure
This course was a pleasure to play. We got a tee time at 2 pm. The weather was perfect and no one. was behind us. The course is well-kept and enough of a challenge for intermediate players with rolling hills to keep your ball from going too far off course. The only reason I took off a point is that the driving range ball machine was broken and there was no staff to distribute range balls so that we could warm up.

Great day off golf!
We teed off at 1:00 and the three if us completed 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours. That was great!! Course is in great shape and doesn’t punish the average golfer. Definitely will play again.

Pace Was Poor
the foursome ahead of me spent lots of time in the rough/woods and were VERY slow.

Fun on the Byrd
Course was wetter than expected, but still played well. Some very nice foursomes let our twosome through. Staff at Lunch was very good. Cart guys were very helpful and got us off early. A very enjoyable day.

Good play for the price
$42 with golf now discount so was happy for the price. The fairways and greens were in great shape but the traps hadn’t been raked in a long time and need sand added.
