About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

Singles have No Priority
Lay out was OK, no blind shots & everything is in front of you so no surprises. There are 150 yd stakes in the fws but found no distance markers on sprinkler heads so some guesswork. The greens had patchy poa annua but overall decent & few spots w no grass. Teeing areas were not poor but below avg Played as single, starting on back 9 & whizzed through the first 5 b4 slowing to near stop behind a 4some of elderly gents. Other groups ahead of them prevented playing thru so as a single I held no priority & they could’ve cared less. Course meanders thru residential area & fws tight in many places & run out sooner than looks. Shorter hitters should not play anything beyond whites, could be more enjoyable moving fwd n tee selections. The par 3s r longer than avg there, the 4s range from mid 300s to over 400 & for linger hitters (250+) there are opportunities to reach the 5s in 2. Greens smallish for “resort” style course & have some elevation changes & undulation so bring a good set of eyes to putt well!.

Overall a good experience
We knew they were sending groups off of both 9s we finished our front nine and had to wait to start the back nine until the back nine groups went off. We have never had to do that before. Groups coming off the front have had priority. That slowed our back nine down tremendously. We did not see a group behind us on the front nine at all. Cannot understand the reasons.

Vacation golf
Perfect vacation golf - not too expensive, great conditions, greens well manicure, quick, but not ridiculous. Well marked to get around from hole to hole, pace of play good. Two good days there !!

Nice layout
Mostly wide fairways and not much water in play.
A couple of fairways were very wet
Greens were outstanding and the starter went out of his way to be friendly and helpful
Overall a very nice day of golf

Perfect Day
Course is in great condition. Starter complained about us showing up exactly at our tee time. We were held up by marathon running event in area. So not much we could do about that. Beverage cart didn’t come around as much as I’d like.

Course had some interesting layouts. The greens were impossible to read as there seemed to be late breaks at each pin. Played with a member who couldn't figure them out either.. Overall fun round even though the weather was bad.

Nice course, but ...
I liked the layout of the course and could see it being a fun place to play, but overall we were a little disappointed. Booked an early tee time, and were alone for the front nine. When we made the turn, we see they had sent people off the back and suddenly we were behind several groups. The foursome in front of us were particularly slow and made no indication of letting our twosome play through. We finally just drove past them and skipped a hole entirely. Their poor golf etiquette isn’t the courses fault, but sending groups off the back when groups are also making the turn wasn’t great.

Nice, quick-moving round on a beautiful day
Friendly, helpful staff at the bag drop; large, attractive pro shop; very honest, quick, true rolling greens; narrow fairways but wide playable space; several dramatic doglegs add to challenge; cart paths need some serious attention; otherwise a quite decent course for the money.

Wet but fun
Course was still very soggy after rain 5 days ago, but not bad if riding and dont mind walking from cart path. Greens were fast but consistent and fair. No driving range or check in at Maples, so I waited and eventually drove over to the other clubhouse when I figured it out...maybe I missed where it says this information? Staff wanted to charge us $40 extra dollars when the random stranger I was with said he would like an extra cart because he has a health condition and didnt want to ride with a strange due to covid. $40....wow...scam alert! It was empty, Im sure they couldve spared 10 extra carts.
