About Sea Trail Resort Villas
The Sea Trail Resort Villas are located north of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and south of Wilmington, N.C. The property sprawls across 2,600 acres and features three championship golf courses. Villas span from one to four bedrooms in size and are equipped with full kitchens, all within 1.5 miles from the barrier island beaches. Indoor and outdoor pools are available to guests at the activity center, which also includes a game room, shuffleboard and more. Units feature a screened-in porch or balcony. Stay-and-play golf packages are available to Sea Trail Golf Club's Rees Jones, Dan Maples and Willard Byrd golf courses. Sea Trail has two clubhouses with driving ranges, putting greens and a PGA-sanctioned learning center.Facts

Wet but fun
Course was still very soggy after rain 5 days ago, but not bad if riding and dont mind walking from cart path. Greens were fast but consistent and fair. No driving range or check in at Maples, so I waited and eventually drove over to the other clubhouse when I figured it out...maybe I missed where it says this information? Staff wanted to charge us $40 extra dollars when the random stranger I was with said he would like an extra cart because he has a health condition and didnt want to ride with a strange due to covid. $40....wow...scam alert! It was empty, Im sure they couldve spared 10 extra carts.
Straightforward golf
With it being cooler and later on a Sunday, we had a no wait round at our own pace which was good for a beginner golfer and his old dad !!
Course is relatively flat, generally plenty of room off the tee, and every hazard there for you to see. Water on several holes but not too invasive and not too many tough carries. Not a spectacular layout but the fairways were good and the greens played much better and much quicker than they looked. Overall, the course was in good shape at a good price for an enjoyable round. On the negative side, no water on the course, no restrooms and the bizarre signs - painted blue lettering on a blue background - at least around the start points, is just sloppy.

Winter trip
Ran out after work. We flew. Played 7 holes in 1 hour with cart path only. Caught a single following a single on 8. 45 minutes later we finished 9. We knew at that pace we wouldn’t finish 18 by dark. Staff was friendly and allowed us to jump to another 9 to finish.

February Golf
As cart path only golf goes had a terrific time with some extra exercise. Enjoyed every hole!

We've had too much rain!
I like this course and have played often. It's a nice mix of holes and difficulty. It played extremely long today due to a lot of rain in the last 2 weeks. Despite a beautiful day of sunshine, light wind and temps in the mid 60s, the course was still very wet. Even drives hit high plugged in the fairways, and no roll on any shots. However the greens were in pretty good condition.
I really like the back 9 on this course especially from 12 thru 18.
And in fairness, every course in the area is CPO and in similar condition.

Wet winter golf
Albeit cart path only, and very wet conditions, the course is well maintained and played well.
The fairways looked very inviting with the outline of Bermuda rough being brown!

Great course
Other than marshy conditions due to all of the rain we have had,,it was great. The greens are like putting on a pool table.

Great course
Course was in great condition with all the rain we have had lately. Had six holes where it was cart paths only. greens were very fast. Just a little tap needed. Still enjoyed very much.

I. Believe its members only through the weekend but let us play because it was a week day. Would have loved to play it again since we knew how the course went but they wouldn't let us. That kinda sucked.

Nice course
Nice course, not extremely difficult, but there are a few tough holes. The ONLY issue I had was the cart paths that have not be repaved since WWII. Not sure how much they spend on golf cart repairs, but I but it would be cut in half if they repaved the cart paths.

This course was in good shape
Good shape for winter. Was pretty wet, but greens were in good shape. The amenities were zero. No driving range, no snack bar, couldn’t even buy a bag of chips at the turn. Other than that it was a nice experience. Would play it again.

Byrd Course
First time playing the Byrd course. Played the Jones last year in the spring. I really enjoyed both they were in good shape, staff was very professional Reasonable price for our round
Beautiful Day for Golf
We purchased our second home at Sea Trail almost two years ago. We LOVE all three golf courses! All are different and fun to play.
The staff at the clubhouse are so very friendly- they go the extra mile!
Clubhouse does need some updating.
