Now I know what I have been doing wrong when this happens, I don't close the face. I wish I would have seen this video sooner! Thank you and enjoy your day Michelle.

Hi, Michelle,
I like the instruction, and I have a question:
For a buried lie, can I put a ball at the center instead of the left side which I do for a regular bunker shot? To do so, I can use a leading edge more. I do the exact the same way you described except a ball position. Thank you for the clarification.

Michelle,
How far behind the ball are you hitting in this buried lie? Thank you.
Paul

Great tip thanks

Thanks, Michelle, for the great tip on the buried lie! Yesterday I found myself with a decent lie with an extremely high, large lip in front of me (at least a foot higher than me when standing in it) and the sand was not fluffy at all, though it was not wet either. I had trouble getting the ball up high enough over that lip! I hit the face of the upper grass and could not get over it. My stance: feet dug in a little, weight and ball forward, club open and thought I took a full swing, but could not get enough sand to lift the ball. Any other tips for that type of condition when the lips are way above my head and sand not fluffy? I know one option could have been to chip it out backwards or sideways which I would have done if I was closer to the lip, but it was a pretty good lie actually. Cost me 2 additional strokes unfortunately. Thanks for your help!

It seemed more like 45 degrees.

good tip thanks

That isn't 90 degrees. But a good tip anyway.
