Winston Lake Golf Course

I’ll admit, I’ve been wanting to play this course for awhile now, but on the GN app, it keeps saying only 9 holes are available and driving range is closed. So I stayed away. Both of those notes are wrong! Driving range opened back up in July and the back 9 is open as well for a full 18 holes.

I was told by another player that just recently the course has undergone a major change of clearing out trees and “opening up” the fairways for easier play. That was noticeable and you can tell they are still somewhat clearing out the scraps of trees that were left behind. I never played the course prior so I don’t know the transformation that took place, but this course was awesome! Fun, challenging, and in great shape!

Greens are small, but slow. So if you stick it on the green on approach, it’s likely staying on. Had a great experience and definitely plan to play again because I wasn’t able to finish the back 9 due to lightning.

I was invited to play as part of a foursome last year and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the course is. They have opened up the fairways by removing some trees and sprucing up the place. The clubhouse staff is very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend you give Winston Salem Lake golf course a try.

Knowing just the scorecard going into the round, it was more difficult layout than expected with lots of undulations and low areas that needed to be carried to in order to have a nice approach shot. Its a nice layout and was a good summer round. They are putting money into the course and facilities and it shows given the condition it was in during this ultra hot and extremely dry summer.

Played on Friday before holiday weekend so was very busy. Course is in really good shape as they continue to make improvements. 3 greens were under repair but they gave discounts or just play 3 other holes twice for options. Folks in pro shop are just outstanding! So friendly and accommodating. Really enjoy playing here.

Course was not in very good shape and the greens were very bumpy and in fact 3 holes on the back nine were closed so we played holes 1,2&3 over I had a golf now coupon and played for only $17 so not really complaining but I would not recommend this course and I most likely will not return, just being honest here.

Just moved here from Florida and I’m going to have to get used to the elevation changes. Looks like this is going to be my new home course. I enjoyed today’s round but will need to play it some more to get used to it. Some greens need help but overall a great value.

Pro Shop is really looking good and Dusty was very accommodating.

A lot of trees were cut down and it is a way better course than before! I told Dusty that I can find my errant balls now but he was correct when he said, "you have a better chance finding your errant balls now".

Greens are good, fairways are getting better than before.

This is an improved course from two years ago.

It was a long hot day while we played behind a group of six players together on the course

1st time playing at this course and it was very nice. Great condition and nice people working there.
