Brown's Run Country Club

About
Brown's Run Country Club in Middletown offers a championship layout that stretches to just over 6,830 yards. The team of William and Brian Gordon, brothers who have designed more than 85 golf courses all over the U.S., designed Brown's Run in 1958. It has a classic layout that is gentle enough for beginners, but it is an enjoyable round no matter what skill level. There are a few strategically placed sand traps throughout the golf course, which make up for the absence of water. The design is pretty straightforward although there are a few slight doglegs to watch out for. In addition to the challenging but playable design, the course boasts some of the finest fairways and greens in the area. Brown's Run also offers other amenities including an Olympic-size pool and four lighted tennis courts.

Still Fun
Slow greens and uncut fairways. Weird for a Sunday. Fairways and greens were lush and nice however, the rough was concrete and beat up. Odd considering they get unlimited water from the local river. Not a $60 course by any stretch, maybe $40-45.
Overpriced
Course conditions were not what you’d expect for a $72 greens fee.
Tee boxes were badly damaged and numerous dead areas in the fairways
Slow play
The course is not in bad shape. Everything is extremely dry. The greens were in good shape. Tea boxes were at least cut along with the fairways, but the lack of no rangers or to keep up pace of play ridiculous five hour and 20 minute round of golf is absolutely ridiculous
Watch out for dynamic pricing
Reserved through Golfnow and was asked to pay an inflated price at check in. When asked about the difference I was told that they were using "dynamic pricing".
Round was pleasant and course was in ok condition. Not sure it was worth the $65 price point or the $72 with the up charge.
Best condition GolfNow course in the area.
The course conditions were great. Soft fairways and soft greens. The course is challenging hitting from the tips or from the old man tees. Grass better than most courses in the area and on GolfNow after the heat and humidity this summer. During the weekdays, there are only a few golfers until the leagues start. If you play weekdays, get started by 1pm. I recommend you don't play this fun course, because we enjoy having no groups in front of us and no groups behind us.
Not impressed
For $62.50 for 18 holes this was at best a waste of $40.00. Not to mention ton some in my group were charged $72 for 18 holes, they do not offer a military discount definitely not friendly. The course is a sub average condition at best. I could have paid $20 less to play at course twice as nice. Save your money and play Jamaica run for far less. They are essentially the same courses.
Not worth the weekend morning money
Not worth the morning tee time money of 70$. Course used to be half decent, recently though it is in worse condition Iv seen in a while. Keep that in mind.
What happened??
I was somewhat disappointed, after playing this track several times last year, it is in awful shape right now. Understandably there’s going to be some burn off on the fairways due to the heat this time of year but clearly there is no course etiquette when it comes to replacing/repairing divots and ball marks on the greens. They need to at least communicate with some signage or have some Marshalls police and educate. Also no water available other than the turn during 90 degree weather was a little surprising as well.
Browns Run
One of our favorite courses. Challenging, tough greens. Great except still need sand in traps, plus more ball washers
Great course, unfortunately had rain delay after 7 holes! Did finish but course pretty wet!
