Nice hometown feel

Flying Hills in Good condition
Played this course off and on for 50 years and today best consition ever for 34.00. Can't beat that in today's environme t
Accessible, Not Perfect
I generally agree with the playing conditions noted by other reviewers. A few sandy and beat up tee boxes here and there. Hard sand traps, but that's true for many public courses in Berks county in this price range.
It's also not as nicely kept as it was, say, thirty year ago, but it's easy to get on and play, though (during weekdays at least). I'd expect play to slow on the weekends because the course is quite narrow. It will punish spray-and-pray players. Probably 80 percent of the fairways can't be missed by more than five yards.
I found the staff to be noticeably nicer on my most recent visit, so that's a plus.
Good value
Great value for the course. Fun layout with a few challenging holes unfortunately a monsoon came and I was unable to finish a full 18 but still had fun.
Course conditions
Tee box's bad.
Ball wash stations, no water.
Sand traps, are rock traps, ruin a sand wedge. Not happy.
Course needs a reseed and trap drainage.
Staff friendly and knowledgeable.
Play the tips
Tee shot on #2 from the back tees has to be one of the most intimidating in Berks. Such a great challenge
Not in great shape
For this time of year, the course should be in very good condition. It is not. Fairways are just okay. Greens are spotty. Tee boxes are terrible. Most importantly, and I’m not sure if it’s just location, but the bugs, whether it’s May, or clearly October, are overwhelming! Too much money for the conditions.
Ugh
Over grown tee boxes, backed up holes lots of waiting around backed up holes. Not one of my top ten places to play BUT I had discount via GN I only played for 6.00 and that’s as much as I would recommend anyone to pay no bueno course
