Over priced under kept
Let me start by saying I’ve never in my 40 year have been so dissatisfied to leave a review for anything. It’s been some years since playing this course so my Sunday group decided to give a shot as last time we played it was ok. Let me start by saying the price was a shock even knowing the course from the past, $65 for Sunday at 10:30. I play a lot of golf in the area and know course value. Blackwood is a $50 Sunday morning course at the very most. The greens are super soft and slow, the cart paths were shockingly bad, literal large chunks missing and even some large chunks just stacked on the side of the path, not only that a rusted out half smashed 55 gallon drum sitting on a cart path hole. Im no cart path snob but these were extremely bad. The layout is mostly back and fourth and the fairways are full of crab grass and not well kept, large and small branches laying in the rough and piled at the base of trees, tee boxes are not kept with sand or replacement dirt and mostly crab grass. Pace of play was extremely slow and other players lacked etiquette, we were almost hit 4 times with no fore being yelled including once while standing on our green and once a ball hit our windshield from the previous tee box with a clear site path to us, no apologies either. To sum it up I’ve played everywhere from Arrowhead to multiple private courses and am equally happy at both so I’m am not picky with golf courses if they are priced fairly, I could name 5 courses close by in much better condition 10 to 15 dollars cheaper for the same time. Either avoid this course or play during the week with a discount coupon if you can find one.
Good shape
Course is in pretty good shape. Much better than a few others in the area...
Great time
Guys Joanne hooked me up with were great guys! Pleasantly surprised at the shape of the course. Best I have seen in two years! Fairways were exceptionally nicely mowed, greens nice as usual and bunkers all in great shape.
Blackwood’s a buy
Nice track in nice shape. Greens were very healthy but a bit on the soft and slow side. Some of the tees could use some work. Par 70. I thought the White tees’ 68.4/118 could be a bit understated.
Pace of Play
This course is great, but pace of play was horrible. I'm not the best golfers, but the novice golfers in front of me held things up. Had to wait 4-5 minutes too tee off and then pause again for my second. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I just wish I didn't have to play at that kind of pace. Not for me.
some things never change
greens still slow. fairways still need cutting. bunkers still need sand (not dirt)

Miller

Fairways and greens were in pretty good condition.
Miller Chester Springs
Both the fairways and greens were in spectacular shape Great layout Super value - our favorite course in the area
Not for serious golfers!
This is a great course for beginners. I was stuck behind several groups of very inexperienced golfers with no awareness of others. It was a beautiful day and I was outside, but the golf was very disappointing.

We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Praying to the golf gods
Lost my wedge on one of the first 4 holes and am hoping someone turns it in for me. It took me the front 9 to try to enjoy the course after realizing my loss.
Greens are awesome right now. Please, everyone, repair your ball marks AND one more. Nice definition between fairways and rough. Not many bare spots to remember. One disappointing thing, par 3 8th hole playing under 90 yards . Bridge to get to tee boxes is closed. Bunkers in shape with sand that was “powdery”.
4 sets of tees, but a BIG difference between white tees (just over 6000) to next set forward (under 5000) Looking forward to returning to play and hopefully getting a call about my wedge. Wish me luck!!!
Green Acres See?
Course was in decent shape, a little long and soft...not much roll from recent weather. Greens were best anywhere...seriously, not sure what they did, but they putted so true as I made 5 putts in excess of 45 feet! A+++ to your greenskeepers. Only gripe was quality of golfers as full of havk heads. I'll be back though just for these greens. I'll take the countryside,,,see?
Can’t beat it at Winter Rates
Thankfully Blackwood went into Winter Rates while other courses haven’t here in November. Course always has beautiful views and challenging holes. Play this at least once a year.
