About
Opened in 1923, Reading Country Club is one of the area's oldest golf courses. Located less than a half hour from King of Prussia, the course is easily accessible from anywhere in the greater Berks County area. Though it has a traditional layout that doesn't have the length that most modern courses do, that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most challenging public golf courses in Berks County. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course will test you with lightning fast, undulating greens that are protected by sand traps and there is punishing rough bordering the narrow, tree-lined fairways. Be prepared for uphill shots and blind approaches throughout the golf course. Reading Country Club's par 3s are especially notable for their difficulty.

Excellent condition
Course is in excellent condition, greens are almost fully recovered from aeration. Rough is VERY rough! Accuracy is a premium here and play the fairway slopes to try to keep the ball from rolling into the rough.
Awesome time as always
The new tee boxes look great, the fairways and greens are coming in perfectly. The course is in such terrific condition!

Reading Country Club
Had a very enjoyable round of golf! It looks like they've been putting a lot of money back into the facilities. They have a brand new fleet of golf carts that have sophisticated GPS-technology computer tablets built in. The greens were aerated during the previous week and were healing nicely as my putts were rolling true.
The Tee Off App alerted me about the aeration AHEAD of my placing my reservation and the Hot Deal pricing reflected a substantial discount. I would definitely play here again.
It was a beautiful day …..
…and where were the golfers? It’s a bit of an old funky layout for 109 years but it works.
Wonderful Experience
I was reluctant to play this course given some of the unfavorable reviews but I'm glad I ignored them. Everything from the staff, the pro shop, the tavern, everything was pleasant. Sure some of the cart paths need to be done over and the traps need more sand. But it's April. Overall the course was a challenge, the fairways and greens were fine, and the pace of play was 4:15. Hard to beat on a public course.
Very challenging for a golfer of my skill level
Today started cold but warmed a bit during the round. My regular playing partner bailed out because it was cold. I joined up with a much younger golf than me. ( I'm 77 he was approximately 35ish) He was really good vs my game is fair at best. We enjoyed each other's company. Hole 8, par 3, across water and uphill - I watched his hole-in-one. I was excited. And was very pleased with himself. Then went birdie, birdie to back that up. I can't say it gives me hope, but that's not why I play golf.
Packed - slow play
Packed with threesomes and foursomes moving slowly. Maybe it’s because a lot of people had off from work today which is the Monday after Easter.
