Windsor at Walhalla

I played Windsor at Walhalla on 6/20/2026. It was also the day they reopened the front nine after they resodded the greens. I did know that going into my round, and therefore didn’t have super high expectations. Putting on the new surface was quite bumpy, which was expected. In a couple of months they should be fantastic. The rest of the course was in great shape and provided a great test of golf. The staff was friendly took good care of me during my visit. The facilities are nice and overall Windsor is a good value for your money.

I arrived at the course to find out that the front nine is closed. They replaced the greens. Also the back nine had the greens replaced recently so they were not in good shape. I only played nine but payed for 18. I used to be able to read reviews on your site but they are not available anymore. I believe I should get a full refund. Not sure why you guys took the reviews off the site but it was a great way to let people know of issues just like this.

Didn’t know until checking in that the greens on the front 9 were being replaced and make shift greens were made in the fairways. The staff was very nice and apologetic. Only offered $6 off fee. Which once out there was definitely not enough for the conditions. Will not be back out there until renovations are complete.

We were visiting the area and remembered playing here about 2 years ago and the course was fantastic. Booked at tee time on Golfnow for a Friday morning. We were disappointed to find out when we showed up that every green on the front was being redone. As usual, there was no notice from Golfnow or the course 😞 We chose to play the back 9 nine twice. The layout is very cool and lots of fun. While the greens had grass, they were bumpy and rolled inconsistent. You can see that there are improvements being done, but the course isnt there yet. Its an OK deal if you book a hot deal...still playable as long as you don't expect much.

For the price I’d expect the course to be in a little better shape. The greens look pretty rough. I read a review before I went that said “The Augusta of South Carolina.” It looks about like a cow pasture out beside The Masters. Has potential but will take a HUGE investment to make course a good play.

Friendly staff. Limited concessions, no drink/snack cart. Course conditions weren’t great. Cart path was fairly rough and in need of replacement. There was a frost delay so the pace was slow and we had a couple

of jerks behind us that kept hitting into our group.

The weather was great. The course was in great shape considering it's early March (not much grass in fairways). The customer service at the pro shop was outstanding, very accommodating they wanted to make sure you enjoyed your round. We had not played there in about 10 years, the course is much improved a lot of updates to fairways. The pace was play was great, we played all 18 holes on Friday with no one pushing us and no waiting on anyone in front of us. It was a lot fun, would play there more often if we lived closer. I drove about two hours to visit this course, and it truly felt like a special date day with my husband. From the moment we checked in, we had a great experience. A young male staff member welcomed us with a bright smile and clearly explained the overall course conditions, which immediately put us in a good mood.

The course itself is spacious and beautifully laid out, with a great variety of holes that keep the game fun and engaging. It’s not an easy course, but that’s part of the charm — each hole challenges you and makes you want to do better.

If it were closer to where I live, I would gladly come every week. Adding a screen or a small ice box to the carts would make the experience even more perfect.

I’m already looking forward to coming back again in the spring!

Inconsistent green quality and speeds throughout the course (yes I know they redid back 9) some are hard some are carpet. Back 9 very sandy.

For what it was it wasn't terrible. The greens are small and super slow. Like playing on thick carpet. Absolutely 0 fertilizer on the greens or tees. Might as well have been called browns. Some areas have noticeable improvements in place. Some areas haven't been touched in years. The back 9 is played through a newly graded subdivision. Signs placed throughout the course stating that you're responsible for damaging property. We played on Christmas eve due to lack of open courses in our area with morning tee times. Overall a decent place, but I'll do my best to not go back for a long time. Good luck and have fun.
