Wade Hampton Golf Course

I’ve been very fortunate to have been invited to play here many times. It’s a very special place...from the clubhouse and staff to the caddies and the course it’s all exceptional! Glad to see it ranking higher and higher in the magazine rankings! Well deserved!

In 1992, I caddied during my sophomore year @ WCU. Employees were allowed to play on Monday at 3:00PM. I cancelled my Monday nite class so I could play this course as many times as possible. I played the course probably 15 times. If there is golf in heaven, it will look like Wade Hampton.

Words cannot do this place justice. As someone who has played all over the country, and nearly 200 courses, Wade Hampton is as close to perfect as it gets. The golf course has it all: a memorable, varied layout with a great collection of holes, perfect tees, fairways, and greens... Last, and not least, eye-popping scenery on every inch of the property. Simply unreal.

Unreal, I came here for the first time in 2013 for the U.S senior open held by the USGA and said I have to come back. Well I did and what an unbelievable experience. The course is nestled in the mountains of Cashiers, North Carolina. The only way to explain it would be like giving a little kid candy. The clubhouse is absolutely buetifuel and the staff was amazing. The rough was ankle thick. And the third, and eleventh greens where like tabletops. The course was so green and the weather was magnificent. The course winds and twists through the trees and the mountains. The towering pines and views are enough. The Tom Fazio design is got to be one of the best in the south. Overall this is easily in my top 10 courses best courses I've ever played. The course is very hard to get on so if you get the opportunity absolutely play it!

This beautiful property is in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. High up on the mountain this course offers many steep elevation changes and at this elevation your ball is traveling further. This course is really a true test of your abilities as a golfer. The weather in Cashiers in the summer is absoultely wonderful. If you have the chance, do not pass up on a trip to Wade Hampton!
