Coachman's Golf Resort - Red/White
About
Located just southeast of Madison, Coachman's Golf Club boasts 27 holes of golf that were carefully sculpted from the wooded hills of southern Wisconsin. The holes make up three nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Each course has a unique character, but they were all designed with players of all skill levels in mind. The golf courses are challenging but they will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. The Red/White combination was the first 18-hole course at Coachman's, with the Red nine built in 1968 and joined by the White two years later. Stately oaks and willow trees accent the course, demanding accuracy while also providing scenery. Challenging water hazards also come into play on several holes. In addition to the three golf courses, Coachman's also offers a driving range, putting green, and chipping area.

Spend your money elsewhere.
Golfnow price for this course was $59 with a cart. Price charged at the course was over $83 with a cart (bait n switch). Tees times are jammed close together. We only saw the bev cart one time and that was on hole #3. Tee boxes were in terrible condition, not mowed well and lumpy, fairways were meh and rough was 4"+ deep. The greens seemed to be maintained well but, that isn't enough to bring me back. Stay away from here. Take your cash to a course where your money goes back into course quality rather than into some circus around a starting shack and carts that constantly shoot warnings at you.
We’re never coming back
This is possibly the worst 27 hole experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. Very simply sad The tee boxes don’t have a flat spot on them, especially in the area with the Team markers which would be the area you hit from nor have they been cut in weeks if not a month. They are longer than my yard at home. The fairways haven’t been cut either in weeks. But the most important part of a golf course is what, the greens. They may have been cut once in the last few weeks, but the cops have not changed in at least four days since we’ve been here Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they would all be the same exact flag locations and the cups wouldn’t move the whole weekend. That’s enough. This place has new owners and they care about as much as the old ones did not at all. It’s merely about money and they got mine and never will again. Nothing about this place says resort except for the title of the place. A resort is supposed to be fun. This is a joke. The cough is horrible. The rooms are horrible and the food is horrible. No reason to ever come back. Need I say more. I asked for a rain check or refund after nine holes because it was almost 3 hours in like I said somebody was standing on the 10th tee box when we got there who obviously became confrontational wearing a Trump shirt. Do you think I’m gonna get into it with that person? I don’t either that’s why I went into the Golf Shop who was of no help giving me a refund again that’s why I’m not coming back.
Chaos
Do not play here. I’m convinced they’re not taking tee times. You just show up, check in/pay and they hand you a slip and send you out to the starter. But that is pure chaos. He looks around and takes a 270 degree survey of the course and randomly tells you to go play a random nine holes. No reason behind it other than which direction he thinks appears to be the least backed up. It was bizarre. Multiple groups on every hole. Everywhere. This was a Tuesday at 10:30am. No planning as to who was supposed to play when. Complete gridlock on every hole. When you make the turn, same exact thing. Looks around and sends you off. We were standing in line after making the turn while he did the same routine and sent that group off to a tee box, and then he looked around when we told him we were making the turn and sent us off to wait on the tee box right behind the group he just sent to the tee mere seconds ago. No planning as to how many groups are where. I’ve never seen anything like it. Worse experience I’ve had on a course in a long time. Do not play here. Seriously, do not play here.
Pay a little extra, go somewhere else
Definitely not worth the value, even at $35 still not worth it. Lost balls in first cut, layout confusing, tee boxes terrible, GPS wrong on almost every hole, I could keep going on and on. The only bright spot was the lady at the snack shack, very personable and friendly. Have to say the hot dogs were great, probably the highlight of the day...
All around good course
I played this course for the first time and really enjoyed it!! Will come again!!
5 somes
Drunk people and groups of 5 or 6 and one beverage cart on a 27 hole course it was hot could have used water didn’t finish. Wouldn’t recommend it on the weekend price was good
Fun course!
Had a great time playing. The starter needed to slow down starts instead of sending everyone early. Could also use a course marshal. The course is 👍
Golfer friendly course
Excellent course for the average golfer, some challenging holes but mostly wide open, and well maintained. Staff is very friendly, also.
Decent Course
Overall, great course for the money. Staff is outstanding. Course was in good shape. Ability to score and not get into too much trouble. Definitely returning soon and recommend for the average golfer.
NEED TO SPACE OUT TEE TIMES
7 minutes in between tee times is outrageous! Waiting for 2 groups of 4 every hole. I understand waiting here an there but every whole messes up your rhythm if you actually can get one going
