Nestled between the Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea volcanoes, The Village Course at Waikoloa (formerly known as Waikola Village Golf Club) has a beautiful and unique location that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The verdant, rolling terrain is dotted with stands of young trees and lakes that were incorporated into the golf course’s design. Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course’s designer, tried to maintain the natural assets of the landscape while adding a few challenges such as fairways bunkers and doglegs. The golf course also features traditional raised greens that are subject to forceful prevailing winds. Although the course is challenging enough for the serious golfer, the relaxed pace and beautiful scenery appeal to players of all skill levels. Locals often consider The Village Course at Waikoloa one of Hawaii’s best-kept secrets.

Rating Waikoloa Village course
Very nice course. Well Maintained, excellent layout. Would definitely recommend this course to play.
Slow play No marshals!
We usually like to play this course but today we were behind a 3 some and they were playing the blues which by the way they hit the balls they should have been playing the reds! Some of their drives didn’t even go past the red ts So I’m thankful we didn’t see any pants down! But they clearly didn’t have any edict as far as letting us play thru or driving next to the greens or hitting multiple balls We really like the course , except for the rocks in the bunkers, we never hit out of them cause we don’t want to damage our clubs but otherwise we will be back and hopefully we won’t get behind some extremely slow players!
Great Public Course
Played it on vacation; Course was in very good condition, good layout with nice elevation changes. Very friendly staff, I hope to make it back someday.

Better value and in better shape than the waikoloa beach courses. 18th was absolutely covered in goose dung.. post club house food and environment a bit it a let down.
Not tricked up. Straight forward course. Few hazards and OB rarely comes into play. Didn’t lose a ball; played 18 on the same ball. Made for a nice afternoon!
Only complaint would be that the sand traps have no sand. They have crushed lava and stone.
Well kept course and Great pace of play
This was second time playing course and very pleased with the conditions of greens and fairways. Very windy on day I played but that didn’t stop our group from playing 18 in 3:45. Love the ocean views on several holes. Nice staff and very good restaurant for post round meal. See you next time WVGC!
Windy
I love this course, unfortunately we had 25+ mph winds ( luck of the draw) so playing was difficult. I’ve played three different times and will play again.

My round at Waikoloa Village was very challenging the course was beautiful and the layout was good for my caliber of play
The issue that day was the wind we had gust up to 40mi/hr 2to 3 club wind very very challenging look forward to playing it again without the wind ✌️
