Haven at Haven Public Golf Club
About
Built along the Santa Cruz River, Haven Golf Course offers scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Built in 1967, it is Green Valley’s oldest golf course and the only course in the area where walking is allowed. The landscape is covered with mature pines, palms, and eucalyptus trees. There are water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play, but overall the golf course has an enjoyable, player-friendly layout. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Haven Golf G.C. facility features a nine-hole, par-3 golf course called Tortuga. There is also a complete practice facility with all-grass hitting stations that provides excellent short game practice.

HAVEN GOLF COURSE
Course was average with a lot of dry bare ground. Have to move ball around to get some grass to hit off of.
All in all for a hotter AZ weather and drier than normal rainfall, the course ( for the money ) was O.K.
Great Greens - Rough Fairways
Greens conditions pretty good. Dirty from the high winds - pine needles & sticks. Most tee boxes were manageable. They have lost several fairways. Dirt patches with clumps of mowed weeds. $28 for 18 holes - value golf.
Need coolers on carts
played here alot when its 100 plus lack of cooler with ice is lamo have to bring own is a bummer
Haven July
Course was maintained well. Improvement over past years. There were a few fairway bald spots but overall fairways were in good shape.
Great weekend course
Fairways are decent, bunkers are terrible with some having a foot of water in them, greens are consistent. The staff is great and barely act golf snobby even when my teenage son and his friends play here. This is our go to course when my son visits from college. First fairway often has 10-15 range balls on it since it is parallel to the range and shares the same direction. Better than any tucson municipal course hands down.
Need better course ranger oversight
The ranger doesn’t say much or anything to groups that run slow. The 2 groups in front of us actually joined up and golfed with 8! They need to do better.
Fairways are in bad shape
When I do manage to hit a fairway, I’d much rather play from actual grass than hardpan dirt. For some reason, the fairways are in especially poor shape from about 80 to 120 yards out from the greens. You guys (Haven) have the water rights, so let’s get those areas back in decent shape. Next time I’ll remember to snap a few photos.
Play rate
There was a group of 4 teen/young adults in front of a few groups that were extremely slow and hitting multiple balls. They were slow and did not let people play through. No Ranger out there to move them along or teach them any etiquette. They left balls all over the course as they hit multiple balls from every location on the course
NICE GOLF DAY!
Haven is a nice flat and wide course that works well for those who just want to relax and enjoy a round.
It is an older course but maintained well considering the summer heat in southern Florida.
We will go back as it is perfect for my wife and I enjoy the views and playing with my wife.
