Black Lake Golf Club

This course was built in 2000 by the UAW and wine through hundreds of acres of prime forest land with no houses in sight. It's a championship level course with numerous tee boxes for different abilities. The condition of the course has always been perfect whenever I have played there and the greens are smooth and fast.. It has an excellent variety of holes with numerous elevation changes.

My home course is always in mint condition despit heavy play during summer with leagues. Spring and fall best time to play with more tee times available...plays long and wide, so very fair and is justbeautiful w immaculate greens, fairways and conditions...

Minus a few sprinkles and a lot of gnats/ black flys it was a good round

This course is fantastic, the maintenance on this course is so good. One of the nicest courses I have played on in a while. The weather cooperated and was beautiful blue sky all day. The greens run very true and I really enjoyed putting on them as well. Really enjoyed myself and also played quite well.

From start to finish this golf course provided everything any golfer could want. No matter your golfing skills, your options of tees provided you to match your skills to the challenges in front of you. The layout was challenging and the options were plentiful. As a senior. playing the forward tees was just as challenging as playing from the tips reminiscincent of days gone by in my youth. Tee thru green I was challenged to play my best shot. Conditions were excellent. Fairways well defined and greens a pleasure to putt on. My score really didn't matter. The experienced made me feel like I scored under par!!

I’m not sure why the fairways are so soggy and so brown. The grounds crew likes to drive out in the middle of the hole you are playing while you are playing it. There are areas in the middle of the fairways where carts have buried in and they are not repaired. There are countless ball marks on the greens. Some of the greens are blighted and you putt on black dirt. The bunkers are cement, and whoever is running the bunker rake is actively pulling sand out of the bunkers.

The lady in the pro shop was very professional, and helpful, but past that, the course was awful. 5.5 hour backed up round. I will not be returning to this course. For being “the pride of the UAW,” it shows the direction things are going with the union.

We had played 9 holes of Back Lake about 6 years ago and got rained out, so we decided to give it a try. The course is owned by the UAW and was in perfect condition. Lush fairways and beautifully manicured greens. We thoroughly enjoyed our round at this course. Also, great options for F&B in the clubhouse for after golf amenities. We picked a good day to play as the course was not busy and we played pretty quickly. The ice storms did not take a toll on this course and the trees were beautiful. It's a must play if you are doing a trip to Gaylord, MI. It's a bit of drive from downtown, but an easy drive. Took us about 45 minutes on great roads from downtown Gaylord. Would play this course again!

My first time playing in northern Michigan and if this is any indication of how golf courses play around here then I’ll be making more visits in the future. The course was beautiful and the layout was ideal with each hole separated and distinct from the others.

The greens were fair and well maintained. For a course this good I would have easily paid more but the GN deal made it even sweeter.
