9 Hole Best
There was a nice flow. Players I played with for the first time were great. Staff and course layout was awesome. Greens were sandy and very bumpy. Overall it works for me, close and convenient.
Great public access to a challenging course in good condition
Played the course with a friend. Nice clubhouse with a good lunch menu for choices. Nice views from restaurant with a great balcony. Excellent practice range and plenty of golf carts for hire. Friendly staff. Greens are pretty good after a fairly dry winter but fairways are very firm and dry for the most part. Enjoyed the layout which was flat for most holes with plenty of water and good bunkering. Bunkers a little inconsistent in terms of sand depth and don’t appear to be maintained that much by ground staff. Overall the course was great for the cost involved incl cart. Only real negative was the restaurant/bar closed at 4pm which was before we had finished after hitting off at around 12:30pm so not chance for a couple of beers after the round. Not sure why a golf course if this calibre is so intent on no one being in the place after 4pm on a Thursday. Not the end of the world but disappointing for golfers and a missed opportunity for the golf club to make some extra revenue in support of the clubs ongoing prosperity.
A course much improved
I played here a few years ago and the course was badly damaged by storms. Fairways were por and greens were below average.
Today, the fairways are really good, and the greens are still being worked on but are significantly better. It looked like they had been redacted recently so there was stills and in them but the surface sere mostly good
Bunkers are in fair condition , but playable.
this course starts off with reasonably easy holes but as you progress into it , after the 6th hole it starts to get et much better and challenging. there are some short par 4s which make it easy to get par on them.
First time at Gainsborough Greens, Pimpama
Enjoyed the game, wide fairways, but still challenging with water and bushland. lots of Kangaroos and bird life.
Will definitely go back and play there again
Much improved
Since playing this course 2 years ago the grass coverage of fairways is significantly improved . While not a difficult course it has quite a lot of challenging holes with water hazards and carries . Bunkers are plentiful but not in the greatest of conditions, however the local rule to lift and drop makes them playable . The course gets better as you progress through the back 9 holes. Ideal for a mid range player
4hrs 30mins on a Sunday morning!!
Great course and amenitys. Pace of play was unbeatable!! Sub 5hr round ona Sunday morning is like finding a unicorn with a bag of hens teeth.
Gainsborough
Great course, on really good condition. Only issue with the afternoon tee slots is that the tee off times are not monitored and it is really busy at this time, so there is a lot of waiting around to play shots, and you'll be lucky to get a full round in due to this (only) issue
Far too busy.
The number of players they cram in combined with the skill of the average player makes it an annoying course to play at.
You are waiting up to 20 to finish each hole.
On the day we went we couldn't;t even finish and early afternoon round as we ran out of time due to how busy it was and having to get the buggy back on-time.
Overall the course is in ok condition.
Greens are nice.
Buggy tracks are good. Actually better than most high ends courses.
Fairways had far too many dirt patches.
Not enough trees between some holes. Dangerous.
Buggy tracks don't always make sense and you can get lost very easily. I bit of a maze in some areas.
Great course
Great course, good do with more marshall presence to usher speed.
