About
Cove Cay Golf Club is located along the shores of Tampa Bay, offering scenic views and abundant wildlife. Water is a prominent feature on the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. The course is tight with narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky dogleg holes. In addition to all of the water hazards, there are also deep bunkers lining the greensides. At 6,000 yards, it is not a long course by any means but what it lacks in length it makes up for in shot-making challenges. Thanks to its length though, it can usually be played in under four hours. The layout features a diverse set of hazards that will require the use of every club in your bag. Cove Cay Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 17th. This dramatic hole runs alongside the bay, making accuracy a necessity in order to reach the small peninsula green.

First time
First time at this course. The drought in Florida has hurt this course a lot. With no water, the tee boxes and greens are very beat up. I would expect it to play much better with some rain. A difficult course for a first timer as I didn't have any of my target lines or disatnces.
Well maintained
All aspects of the course were very good.Greens were fast even with early morning play.
Value
Some interesting holes, some with a view but overpriced for the condition of the greens and Tee boxes.
Pace of play and course conditions
There was a bachelor party in front of us and they formed a group of 6 and really screwed up the pace of play and the course was dry and the fairways were almost like cement out there!
Could be a good course
The course needs money put into it. The layout is fine and challenging, but the conditions are not good. Very poor greens, and 7min tee times make for very slow play. Not worth the price…
Needs grass to be healthy in all fairways and greens are not good. In a satellite with no winter should be great!. I live in Utah with winters.
Pace
We finished the front in 3 hours. We got to 10, there were 3 groups waiting plus our group then the group behind us. I asked for a rain check and Bob said it was not an option. We left after almost 4 1/2 hours and played 14 holes but had to leave. Unfortunately we missed the best few holes with the views
Rough shape
Greens were awful, tee boxes were.rugged. I've never seen this course so poorly maintained.
Rough Shape
Conditions went downhill since last time I played. Greens were pretty poor, fairways pretty thin and bunkers are more dirt than sand. Tee boxes also mostly chewed up. The lack of rain really taking its toll. Can be a great, scenic short track.
