Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Great shape

Course is in great space. Greens were very good and consistent. Fairways are good as well. Some pockets where there was no grass but, overall very good conditions.

Pretty Decent Course

I agree with some previous reviews. Greens were in excellent condition. Tee boxes were good. Fairways were decent in most areas, needed help in others.

It has a pretty tight layout, so accuracy is a must.

Also, greens looked great, but were very firm, so shots did not hold well unless you hit a flop or very high shot.

Overall, it’s not a bad course from other options available. Honestly, living in Myrtle Beach, we are spoiled with great courses, so if it was in our area, it would be considered sub par.

Would become a member if they had a spot open.

First time playing the course after moving back to Clearwater Beach. The greens, firm but immaculate looking. Definitely need some backspin or land short to stick a long iron. Loved the course. Some challenging holes and tight fairways but lovely. After 9 holes I asked for a membership brochure. Unfortunately not taking members currently but man would I join..

Some good some bad

So the greens and tee boxes were in excellent shape. Fairways need a lot of love, with some dead spots and a bunch of weeds in the rough.

First time playing there and the course is what you think, super tight and short. Greens rolled very nicely though and looked much faster than they rolled but that’s ok. The course is over a 100 years old so it’s not going to be long which is ok, if the greens stay nice I could see coming back again. It is a good walking course if that’s your thing. Definitely need some more grass in the fairways.

HOT

The course was wide open today no snowbirds anymore. Putting greens very nice and fast speed. Fairways and around the greens were hardpan very tight lies makes it hard to take a real divot. All the courses are lacking water and its been a real drought Staff was super nice and friendly i might go back im not sure. 3 stars for me
