North Golf Course at Big Cypress Golf & Country Club
About
Big Cypress Golf Club is home to two golf courses, the championship South Course and the executive North Course. Located in Lakeland, Big Cypress is situated between Orlando and Tampa. The courses are part of a gated retirement community called Cypress Lakes. The North is less challenging and offers a gentler version of the South that is more approachable to beginners. It is a fairly narrow layout that features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed sand bunkers. Water also has a strong presence on the course, coming into play on a total of 12 holes. The layout is player-friendly and offers several risk-reward opportunities. It is a great for beginners and more advanced players will enjoy it for a quick round or a warm-up for the South Course. In addition to the two golf courses, there is also a driving range and putting green.

Golfer Reviews
Great course to work on your short game
I love this hidden gem in Lakeland. It's never to busy so pace of play is always excellent. The grounds are very well maintained, and given the weather as of late the greens were in great shape. Each hole presents a unique challenge that makes you pick your shot and fully commit. The course is short but the greens are small, so accuracy is a requirement. The only drawback is the facilities are not as nice as some other places. Though they are redoing the bar area right now so seems like they are actively working on that. Absolutely recommend this course for a good round that doesn't kill your whole day.
North Exec
Fun little track. Although it's a short course you can still hit every club in your bag. Conditions were great, especially the greens.
Big Cypress South
Amazing course conditions. Challenging layout but very picturesque and beautiful views. Love this course!
Nice iron course
Short course with 14 par threes and 4 very short par fours. Gives you a chance to use all of your irons. Fairways and roughs were in winter condition. Sand traps were hard packed with minimum sand depth. Greens were small, rolled true, did not hold the approach shot.
Great course. I wish Links of Lake Bernedette, Scotland Yards and Brooksville Country Club would take care of their courses as well this one and should take LESSONS from Big Cypress on how to maintain a course. Can't wait to play the South Course.
Short game challenge
The course is in very good condition (Same as the South Course)
Tee boxes are the weakest area, but fairways and greens were good.
The speed of the greens was spot on and held the ball on approach shots.
This is a great test of your short game and has some holes that are testing. It is narrow, and you will lose balls on wayward shots.
Has a great feel about it and is an enjoyable round.
Beautiful short course
If you want to work on your short game and be surrounded by nature, this is the place! Course in great condition. I saw the biggest alligators there!!
Nice!
Greens are slow but what a great executive course, best one around.
