The Club At Olde Cypress

I got to play Olde Cypress with a friend who is a member there. The course was firm and in immaculate condition. The clubhouse just went through a $18 million renovation and looks beautiful. One of the largest clubhouses I've seen. All the staff at the course were extremely pleasant.

The designer is P.B Dye and if you have played any of his other courses, they can be a challenge. It's a course you need to play numerous times to get a feel of all the nuances of the course. With us playing at 5,600 yards and a slope rating of 127, we knew it was not going to be easy.

The course is firm & fast. Plenty of room to hit off the tee but if you hit it near the edges, they do slope off toward the trees/pine needles. The greens were firm too with many greens sloping off on the edges too.

The course is fun and challenging. It has a good mix of long and short holes. Several memorable holes. The food is outstanding. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
