Wilderness Golf Course

Realizing this is mostly out of the control of the people running the course, the overall round was nice but since it was a few days after lots of rain, the mosquitoes were almost unbearable, especially if your ball ended up under a tree or near tall brushes.

Course conditions (other than mosquitoes): 5

Overall value: 4 (it is a bit of a drive for those coming from around the Houston area)

If you’re planning to play, wear long sleeves/pants and bring lots of bug spray.

We like this course. Has a nice layout and bunkers have been redone. Greens are OK but fsirwsys need more water

If it wasn't for the greens it would have been 5 stars all around. They were super fuzzy and long and apparently no one fixes ball marks.

Other great note: we were cartpath only at the start and it wasn't that bad, when we got to like hole 4 they came around and told us to change to 90 degrees, never seen that before and it was the right thing to do!

Staff cart lady and pace of play was great..had a great time.

Drove out from Houston and will for sure be coming back. Open and maintained fairways and tee boxes.

Really fun track. Tough greens but role true. Great sand trap conditions. Good range and practice facilities.

Only one glitch... the two s-l-o-w twosomes ahead of our group, with no marshal to correct the situation.

I have been looking forward to playing this course for some time. I drove nearly an hour, and paid $80 for a Monday tee time at 1030 am. The pace of play was very slow, since the front 9 was the only part of the course that was open. The back 9 was closed for maintenance. Not an enjoyable experience, to say the least.

Really fun set up. Bunkers are almost done being redone. Greens were not awful, but not great. I believe the course will get to great shape in a few months. Fun place to go and get away from the neighborhood courses.

Impressive very well maintained course for a public course.

Only two of the greens had few issues. Fairways were all mowed, cart paths were in perfect condition, looked as though the grass was edged along the cart paths. Although middle of the week there was a beverage cart. I play often and many courses in the Houston area. I have to give this course a A+ rating and a must play.
