Great bang for the Buck
It gets very crowded and there are lots of blind spots so pace of play can be a little slower. But for the cost on the weekends for 18 it cant be beaten.
I used to never play Chapel after Spring, but now...
This place was not taken care of for years and was as hard as a parking lot after June. Now, it seems they have put some time into watering it, cleaning it up, and they haven't even raised their LOW prices (yet)! So, after playing this round there I will definitely be giving them another shot (post June) to see how it goes.
Cheap but Unkept
Great for the price. The course was unkept. The fairways are a bit tight so you got people all over the course tracking down their balls. All in all for the price if you can get there when it’s not busy great value. It’s not even worth hitting out of the sand traps though.
Tee times not regulated at all
Good course other than they never regulate tee times. Every time we go they let you get on whenever you want. Last visit it was backed up mid game 3-4 groups of 4 in front of us. Ended up having to skip hole 10 and bypass to elevate some of the congestion. The week before we had to bypass 2 holes and there were players jumping around from hole to hole the entire time. That's the biggest issue there. Seems they let walk ons keep coming regardless of openings.
Good corse for the money
Course is somewhat challenging, meets a little better upkeep and the fairways and the t boxes, but overall good staff was great, very friendly, very helpful
Good course
I like this course because it’s challenging and forgiving at the same time. The layout is not bad and overall the course is fun. Just wish some of the fairways were nicer. There should never be huge patches of bare dirt on a fairway. Would definitely recommend this course
Good deal
I've played Chapel Hill many times over the past 25 years. It's a long drive to get there, but we like the layout, and the price is right. Not in the best shape, but for the money, it's good.
early spring golf
played on 4-12 , course is in extremely poor condition , but the reens are alright . lots of bare spots all through the layout though they have replaced the sand in the traps . there are lots of areas that are roped off , and they are beginning some repair work and reseeding of entire course . the 17th hole which is a par 5 has been drastically reduced to a par 3 , so normally I recommend this course , at this time I do not unless you are there just for a practice round .
