Golfer Reviews
overall really really good
sometimes pace of play is slow, great layout. i try to play it 2-3 times a month
Palmer course
I would have rated higher but greens were just aereated and sanded which made putting impossible.
Continues to be one of my favorites!
Course was in great condition despite the frequent rains of late. Understandably, it was cart path only for that reason. Staff could not be more welcoming and helpful. Pricing is high under normal circumstances but our “Hot Deal” made the experience even more satisfying. Well worth the hour drive from Pittsburgh
Nice course
Cool course, not very difficult. Lots of short par 5s. Pace of play was rough. Round took 5.5 hours. At home we can be done in 3. Nothing wrong with playing bad, but atleast play bad fast.
Bunkers
Most if not all of the bunkers need sand in them and not river sand. We could not hit out of them due to hitting the ground and scolding the ball because there was no sand hardly in the bunker. Luckily I wasn’t in many of them but you can see that it’s like hitting out of clay. If they would only fill the traps with good sand it might be worth the price but it isn’t worth what they are charging right now.
Excellent Course
Everyone told me that this course is their favorite in the Ohio Valley. After playing it, I understand why. It is in pristine condition. Despite the hilly terrain, the fairways are relatively flat, with infrequent minimal sidehill lies. Coming from flatland Florida, it was fun teeing off from elevated tees. The greens had nice contours ajd were smooth. I'll definitely play here again on my next visit to the upper Ohio Valley.
Beautiful
This course was excellent. Very enjoyable round of golf. the starter was friendly and knew the layout of the course by heart and went over the terrain with us before we headed out. Driving range available and accessible to both the Jones and Palmer courses. Fairways were like carpet and the greens were immaculate.
good bones
Palmer course has good bones and was enjoyable to play despite the cold and breezy conditions. nice layout/design and we will play again. recommended.
Oglevy Arnold Palmer course
Great experience stunning course
Great course and conditions
Beautiful layout with great elevation changes. The greens and fairways were in great shape given the recent drought conditions in the Wheeling area. The greens rolled true and checked up great. The blue tees are really challenging. The pace of play was really slow (5:20 to play 18) due to the course being fully booked on the day I played. Expect a long round but you’ll be able to enjoy it and the beautiful scenery that it offers. The staff was excellent and the drinks and food are really reasonable. Definitely put this on your list of courses to play.
Poor quality for the price
This course is living in the past. They will not improve the course and think that we will come just because of their name. Staff on the course are friendly. Pro and staff inside are pompous jerks. Course needs a lot of work. We came down with 12 golfers and they double booked tee times? We wont be back. BE CAREFUL!
