Greatwood Golf Club

Played this course with my friends for the first time. I enjoyed the course, it was well taken care of and we just had a blast. There was no cart girl working there that day but were still able to get breakfast before and hot dogs at the turn. Overall if you want a good, fairly priced place to play, check it out. I'd come back for sure.

Really is a good value and the layout of the course is fun. Lots of force carries because of water hazards and it takes strategic shot playing if you want to do it with a plan to get on the green in three instead of the force carry (for a par four). Some of the tea boxes are excessively dry and need to be loosened up with some water or turf management need a hammer to drive the tee in. The car management is pretty aggressive with lots of blocking fences and Geo fencing which shuts down the cart to prevent you from wearing down areas that would normally get excessive cart Use. However, I’d rather have it that way instead of cart path only.. you can tell that the course was originally private and it had to go public because of demographic change of the neighbourhood and probably other competing courses. Still rather see it do that than shut down.

Nice course and layout. Greens were fast the day I was there.. plenty of bunkers for you to enjoy!! Lol

Nice course. Given the expense of golf, I was not expecting such a nice course for the rate I paid, I was pleasantly surprised.

Course provides some challenges and strategic shots, but I thought the landing areas were very generous for those that struggle a bit off the tee. Many different hole layouts, dog legs, etc.

Greens were in good shape and fast.

I recommend Greatwood Golf Club.

Compared to similar condition courses, Great Wood was really good. Not much for amenities. Building looks extremely dated but the carts had screens in them that basically serve as your caddie which was unexpected for a $45 green fee.

Great value for the money. Some green and fairways need to be worked but the course layout is excellent. Fairways are bumpy and some greens have patches for brown, but looks to be on the road to recovery from the summer heat.

We play the course first time.We like the layout and the greens are in good condition.We really enjoyed playing and we will definitely recommend to everyone who likes to play golf.

Course is in great shape and for only $62 on a Sunday morning. It’s a fantastic value and the carts have GPS. Most courses with GPS are easily over $100 in Houston. That being said.. They should charge $75 weekdays and a $100 on weekends and holidays. Why.. it needs to generate more revenue. All of the pro shop, restaurant basically needs to renovated. People complain about the staff being rude but I couldn’t care less. Be rude back if you need to. Guy at the pro shop and starter were fine in my opinion. Girl at restaurant hates working there and probably needs a raise. That could make her happy and smile more. Charging more will help renovate and employ happier staff. During our round we fell behind 25 minutes because of the foursome in front of us. We skipped them on a par 3 hole on the back and finished on time. That group we skipped fell behind more than 2 holes. An extra Marshall keeping pace of play would help. Ohh.. and no cart girl on a Sunday is insane.

Great track and location. The team is always very friendly and helpful.

Ground was hard causing the ball to have a major bounce left to right but great course other then that.

Course in great shape fairways and especially the greens. Bunkers need work...hard sand. Tough layout that is a blast to play!

The course is fun but challenging with houses lining almost every hole. My only complaint is not all the staff members are as welcoming. Particularly this 1 young lady who seems to always be in a bad mood.

Greatwood carts is so restricted with the carts that it will stop on the actual golf cart path. It’s rediculous!!!!

I’ve been coming on and off to great Wood for 20+ years and I like the way they maintain the course I like the amenities I like the low-key people running the place. Sometimes say overbook, but I haven’t run into that too many times. It’s the third time I’ve played in about a month and a half here

Overall the course was in great shape. The sand traps were rough - very hard but it wouldn’t have mattered if I had stayed out of them.

Definitely have to play smart golf on many holes. Makes us better golfers not just hitters.
