Sad to See What This Course Has Become

It was honestly heartbreaking to see the condition of this course. I remember when the ponds were full, everything was lush and green, and this felt like a hidden gem in the desert.

Today, the fairways have essentially been abandoned and returned to desert, while many of the greens are plagued by weeds, disease, and bare spots, making them nearly unplayable. Even some of the tee boxes that receive water are poorly maintained.

I’m grateful I could bring my son and share some of the memories I had here when I was younger, but it was very sad to see a course with so much character and potential in such disarray. I truly hope it can one day be restored to what it once was.

This is the worst unmaintained course that I have ever played at in my life weed everywhere nothing bathrooms are disgusting no supplies. It’s a plane in a weed pasture and no help at all with staffing city supposed to be helping out. Water leaks all over the place it’s a risk to even keep open. Transfer or fill a new prescription.

Course was not in good shape. Lots of bare spots on many tee boxes and all fairways. Greens were just ok.

The greens were decent. However, the fairways were horrible.

I know kern county has been having water issues and some courses have it tougher than other but for the price and conditions I would play here again l love the layout of this course and its so much fun to play if you keep it in play

First time playing this course. Staff were nice, the course however is in poor shape. It's to be somewhat expected in the desert, but for instance even some of the putting greens have patches of dead grass. Nice thing was the pacing was great on a Sunday morning, not exactly a prime spot but I was not rushed at all.

The course has for the most part good enough greens but the fairwauare very poor and the lack of red tee marlers is poor. Wouldn't play again and glad I only paid 25 dollars!!!

It is a great course for the price but bring plenty of balls because even a fairway shot might get lost in sprinkler repair, gopher hole, or tall grass.

I would play again.

Fairways are really bad at the moment can lose your ball fairly easy they need to trim and water lot of dirt areas not fun to play anymore

The layout is a very nice design but a lot of areas are dead grass. And if you’re not consistent with hitting fairways, you’re on dirt. But I still very much enjoy this course and the people who work there. The front desk lady is enjoyable

Staff was VERY friendly. He warned me that the course wasn’t in that great of shape, and that was an understatement. Been playing for over 15 years, and I’ve never played a course this bad. Greens were in good shape but fairways, bunkers, and paths were deplorable. It’s a shame because the layout is AMAZING! But you can tell California City NEGLECTS this course. You get your moneys worth forsure for 18 holes just wish they would try to bring back some of the fairways back to life with more grass and more green

Great day to golf, slight breeze on a sunny after noon. Course seems to be looking better and better from when I first started going a few years ago. Keep doing what your doing there. Can’t wait to get out there again.
