Fun!
Great course layout. Good value and fantastic grille!
Good affordable
Was good for the price if your in yucca valley and not wanting to drive to Palm Springs . Good for a quick morning round
Peaceful and relaxing
Very enjoyable 12 hole track on a calm afternoon. Played as a warm up for longer valley courses. Acclimating to the greater golf environment.
Hawks Landing only has 12 holes
You can play 18 if you wait at #1 again to replay 1-6. It’s also a shorter course but good practice.
Great track between Vegas and Palm Springs
This is a great place to play. We stopped here on the way home from Palm Springs back to Las Vegas. The 12 hole layout is really good. Pay to play was good, and the conditions were pretty good given that it is winter. The greens rolled true although a couple of them were still a little sandy.
We had lunch after we played and talked to the owner, Cindy, for about 20 minutes. She in the entire staff there were amazing. We're definitely stopping here when we travel between Vegas and Palm Springs again.
Not fabulous
Probably wouldn't be back. It's winter, and it was more brown than green. And very wet and spongy in spots, especially when practicing chipping.
People were really nice except the guy that hit our cart while we were in it, and we didn't hear him yell 'fore.' I told him he needs to "YELL FORE"
Decent value, good setting
I went out by myself for the first 12 holes and barely had to wait, so I was very happy with the Pace. The greens were well soaked, but in decent shape. On the back six I played with a marine from Twentynine Palms and he said the greens were very wet earlier. Apparently he was playing his second 18 holes.
All in all, a nice course on a warm winter day
Getting better all the time.
I played this course several times but haven’t played it for close to a year. The course is definitely improved from the last time I played. The layout is different but fun.
The staff are always friendly and helpful.
Hidden Gem
Going through the neighborhood made us think we were in the wrong location. Suddenly, there was this beautiful golf course hidden behind apartments.
The course was fun with a gorgeous backdrop of mountains. We will go back when driving through again.
Very solid for a great price
Worth your time to drive to and enjoy this hidden gem with an alol around funky and fun course. Very nice and simple layout being well taken care of for this time of the year when many other courses are price gouging and in process of punching and overseeding
Great improvements!
Hawks has been hit or miss over the years, but they have made a solid effort this summer to keep the greens in excellent shape. Ownership has committed to a higher standard of maintenance and it shows. I'd still like to see better sand in the bunkers and bunker edging, as well as a cleaner cut of green fringe without choppy lines, but again there has been a vast improvement. Range balls need some help as well, but definitely play here as it is a local gem!
Not much fun
The staff is very clicky & god forbid a nice looking women try’s to join the daily bar click!!!
Fun course, but needs repairs
I like Hawks Landing and have played here several times. The 12 hole course is a little strange but that’s okay. The greens here need lots of help. 4 of them are good, 4 of them are decent and the other 4 are horrible. I’m not sure if this a Southern California thing, but the bunkers here are terrible. The sand looks like sand but plays like dirt. There are areas just off the fairway that have deep grass/ weeds which if you are unfortunate to land there make the ball hard to find and even harder to hit from.
I like the driving range but they need to do something about the mats/ carpet from where you have to hit from. There are signs telling you not to hit from the grass. The problem is, you cannot pit a tee in the mats to hit a driver.
The day I played it was extremely windy, windier than I’ve ever played in which was just brutal. This is no fault of Hawks Landing though.
I’m sure I’ll be back someday, I just hope they can address some of the issues.
Unique experiance in the highlands.
We wanted to get our season off to a easy start And this was the perfect course for that. Coming from the Northeast United States in the winter, We wanted to get the rest off our game.
Very friendly course for all levels. The course is
a little dry in the fairways, but the greens were in great shape. Driving range and a large practice putting green.
We played the 12 holes in under 21/2 hours.
Would recommend to those who want to make the journey from the Palm Springs area.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
