Pukalani Country Club
About
Pukalani Country Club has a unique location at the 1,100-foot elevation of the famous Mount Haleakala, an extinct volcano whose name means “House of the Rising Sun.” The dramatic elevation offers breathtaking views that span the West Maui Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. The golf course features wide, undulating fairways and fast, sloped greens. The gently rolling terrain can cause some tricky uneven lies. There are trees and well placed bunkers scattered throughout to provide further challenge. Pukalani Country Club has a unique feature on the par-3 third hole. The hole gives golfers the options of hitting to one of two very different greens, one which requires a tee shot over a tree-filled gully and another that requires a shot beyond a cliff to a pal tree-lined green.

Always a great experience!
We golf here every time we vacation here in Maui.
Great value. This course is always in good shape.
This coarse very playable, and just a joy to play
Arizona Golfer
Course is in great shape. A lot of high risk/high reward holes. Very challenging course and add the windy conditions makes the experience more rewarding when you do well. A definite “ must come and play again”. Highly recommended, best golf deal in Maui!
Edmonton Fan
There is nothing fancy about club house as it’s a couple office trailers but we loved the course as the wife is a beginner golfer and me as a guy that plays over a 100 rounds a year!
We ordered a sandwich to share on the turn and food was great!
The tee office guy was a gem told us about stuff on the course and offered great merch pricing.
Going back Sunday to play one more round!
Not so good
Of course there’s nothing to brag about. Unfortunately, we had two twosome‘s in front of us that should’ve been put together as a foursome play was very very slow over five hour round.
Fun course
Course was in good shape; the cart paths need work.
Beautiful course firm greens
I had a great experience at Pukalani Country Club. The course itself is in really good shape and offers a fun, challenging layout—especially the par 3s, which definitely keep things interesting.
The staff stood out the most though—everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole round even more enjoyable.
The only downside for me was the greens. They were pretty firm and didn’t hold shots very well, which made approach shots a bit tricky. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of.
Overall, a really solid course with a great vibe. I’d definitely come back and play again.
Very good shape a few days after a major storm event.
Based on being less than a week after a major storm event in Maui. The course was in good shape. A few of the tee boxes on the back nine still need some attention and the rough is deeper than usual. Fairways and greens were in very good condition.
Glad it’s open
With all the rain it’s nice the course is open and I appreciate the effort of the groundskeeper but the course is in need of a lot of cleanup and grass cutting.
Pukalani First Timer
We played Pukalani in the middle of the two Kona storms, once Wednesday and again on Friday. Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the course and the conditions considering the storms that had just gone by that had closed most of the courses on the island.
The course is beautifully lined with lots of Norfolk Pines, which did not take the same damage as some of the other trees on other courses, the fairways were in reasonably good condition, but the greens were in excellent shape and rolled very nicely. Lots of elevation changes, so have to club up or down depending what your direction is. Wednesday played with a little to no wind, and gave you a good sense of how the course played, but Friday after the first hole the winds picked up and we’re 2 to 3 clubs different every shot. Love playing Maui courses when it’s windy, rewards you when you hit a good shot, but will penalize you if you hit the wrong fade or draw at the wrong time. Still a very enjoyable round of golf, will be back again next time I visit Maui.
Post Kona Low
Course is in overall average condition, not considering the wind damage to the course from the storms. They is a lot of clean up to do on the course but I will not downgrade the rating because of that just happy they are ok and open.
