About
Situated on Chicago's scenic North Shore, Lake Bluff Golf Club has become a "must-play" destination in the area. First opened in 1968, the course has a classic layout with front and back nines that are very different. The front nine provides a gentle start. The terrain is mostly flat and the holes are straightforward. As you move onto Lake Bluff's back nine there is more up and down and consequently the challenges are greater. Don't get too comfortable on the first half of the golf course because you'll need your wits about you for the second. Trees line the narrow fairways and the tricky greens all slope in one direction or another. Accuracy is essential. Water doesn't come into play but the doglegs and strategically placed bunkers provide plenty of challenges.

Pace
King of slow play. Rangers do nothing. unless you play at 5am get ready for 6 hour round.
I am a member and resident so this makes me mad. Poorly managed.
Easy course! Wide open, great course for beginners looking to get into golf who play with moderate to good players! Wide open during the week
No course around here does bunker sand correctly
This is a fine old muni. It’s playable but has a few spots that require strategy and accuracy. It’s overall in good condition. The bunker sand is bad. Most courses around here have too little sand on top of hard pan. This course has wayyyyy too much sand. If a ball lands in the bunker on the fly, it’s always a fried egg. Even if a ball rolls into the bunker, it can create its own canal and deep hole.
Great public course
This is a great public course.
For a public course it is very well kept.
Nice Municipal course
Nice course, not real difficult. Good value and convenient to get to.
Great beginners to intermediate course
Friendly staff, we'll kept grounds. Nice amenities, putting, driving range, bunker practice area, clubhouse with pretty good food options. Course is fun with some hazards but not overly intimidating for high handicap. Very fair pricing for what it offers, Id golf here again.
First time in 5 years
Haven't played here since 2020 and it was still awesome. Great layout and some very challenging holes. Will be back
