Foss Park Golf Course has a convenient location in North Chicago that is an easy drive in from the city. It's a public course that is known amongst locals for being one of the area's best golf values. The layout is wide-open save for three holes that are framed by towering mature trees. The golf course strikes a good balance between being challenging and playable. The fairways are narrow and demand accuracy but the massive greens are more forgiving. Each hole offers a variety of different playing options, which makes the course appealing to a wide range of skill levels. The golf course has plenty of sand, plus water hazards come into play on several holes. There is also a driving range and large practice putting green available at Foss Park G.C.

Be prepared to wait

Clearly the goal here is to cram as many people on the course as possible. All foursomes. All teeing off as soon as humanly possible. They moved me up by 10 minutes just to fill out a group and get them on the way.

Since the average skill level on the course isn't very good, it becomes an agonizing wait on literally every shot. Left shot 14 holes, I just couldn't handle waiting any longer.

Greens and Tee boxes were in great condition, could have cut the tee boxes less than what they were. GPS on carts were nice, showed were preceding group was, nice for big hitters. Everyone was very professional, great deal on Tee times.com, worth the price!

Foss Park All Good

Course in good shape. Seems like they keep making improvements to the course.

Played on a super hot day and staff members came around offering water to make sure golfers were staying hydrated.

Only suggestion would be to put more sand in bunkers. All else really good!
