Big Run Golf Club

Very hilly challenging and not boring course.

Some of the bridges and car paths need a repair, however course is well maintained.

One of my favorite courses in Chicagoland.

Great challenging layout. Greens are really perfect and getting first putt close is important. Play some traps as GUR. Tees, fairways and rough are in good shape. Cart paths are in need of replacement but who cares as everything else has been taken care of.

Get a good deal from Golf Now and enjoy this superior tract.

Given the recent weather issues the course should have been closed on Monday. All the workers were trying to clean tree debris and cut very long grass.

I paid for 18 holes but quit after 9 since it took 2 and 1/2 hours and the 3-some in front of me took 20 minutes to play the 10th. By the way, somehow a FIVEsome of poor golfers were in front of the 3some.

I was not in the mood for a 5+ hour round.

You cant book regular volume when your course needs storm repair.

Big Run has to be one of the most enjoyable courses in the entire state of Illinois. This course challenges you in different ways with the incredible topography. So many greens offer multiple tiers for variable pin positions. The environment is home to lots of nature and beautiful trees and flowers. I have never been to a course in Illinois with this much elevation change combined with serious yardage options.

The course desperately needs a real range to warmup at, but aside from that is an absolute gem.

Great layout, good price, tasty but overpriced burgers

Citgo Corp. who own the course, have put much needed capital into Big Run and you can see the difference from tee to green. Fairways,Bunkers, Greens look great. Saw maintenance crew out at several areas improving the course.

Citgo needs to address ALL the crossing bridges that need to be replaced with modern ones ASAP before an accident occurs!!

Also to to remove cart path black top and remove with new blacktop. Golf carts taking a beating and won’t last long.

All staff interaction were very friendly.

Big Run is a great course to challenge you from tee to green.

The layout and terrain of the course is great. The giant old oaks are amazing. The course is 99 years old. I dont mi d the clubhouse, its nostalgic. The cart paths are awful and at some points considered hazadarous. The conditions of the bridges are poor eith one bridge covered in plywood and a lawsuit waiting to happen. Great course and if cart paths and bridges were invested in this would be a top course in IL no doubt.

Always been a favorite hard but fair layout if you haven’t played here before you’re probably gonna three put a few times even though the greens are reasonable speed pretty long Course if you play the Tips or one up, it’s one of the original long courses in the area, it was a long course 40 years ago and the yard is still holds up today although they do have tease now to shorten it up and none of the part fours are overly long just not too many ReelShort ones although they do have a drivable hole.

Few years ago when I played here first time, thought everything was great but seemed like the grass no matter how close to a green or fairway was swallowing every ball that went into it, real hard to find balls didn't want to come back but of course I did and now every time I go here it keeps getting better. Perfect terrain for a golf course. #9 has got to be considered one of the more challenging holes around. Grounds crew or new ownership has this place on the right track.

Was playing yesterday and the gentleman who was in the clubhouse when we checked in was a little upset with me when I asked for a refund for my fourth player who got sick and couldn’t make it even though I already paid for him. So we were playing at pace the whole round and not a single group was seen behind us the whole 18 holes and he checked on us twice to tell us to speed up. It was also 95 degrees outside. Please have some more decorum when speaking to people.

Outside of the cart paths (which all need to be replaced) the course is in nice shape.

Greens are in great shape!

Course was fine at best. Lots of standing water and muddy bunkers. The guy at the pro shop was very rude, and kept yelling at customers over a PA. It was weird

Course is in great shape! Way better than it was a few years ago. Glad citgo bought it and has the money to maintain it.
