Big Run Golf Club

good hilly track. needs some sprucing up here and there but a lot of fun to play. the par 3 on the back 9 is one the best in the area.

Did not feel like I was still in Illinois. Course was beautiful, but not overly tricky with all sorts of water traps. It was still a challenging course with the hills.

Big Run is in great shape and getting better. I always see workers and especially reworking and fixing traps.

This is such a fun course. So challenging. I got chewed up and spit back out by it but would love to play it again.

Pace of play wasn’t great though, especially considering there only 3-somes ahead of us…it was still over 4 1/2 hours.

I do wish the course was in better shape though. Fairways were incredibly hard. Lots of bunkers under repair which is a good sign, glad they’re being redone.

Lots of sparse areas that had as much mud as grass.

Given the difficulty of the course, I wish there was a good warmup area or at least a simulator to get your swing going.

A improvements and this course could be a gem.

I golf every Sunday for the past year and I’ve never Experienced such alienation. I get I “look young” and black. But there’s no reason to change how you treat me compared to all other players that arrive. I waited until line and watched how everyone was handled and my experience was terrible. To top it off, my wife walking the course with me was called a “liability”… also something I’ve never heard. This place staff wise was a joke to say the least. But the course itself not to shabby. I liked the overall feel on the greens.

Enjoyed the course and conditions were overall very good. I was very disappointed that there were multiple groups of 5 allowed on a Sunday morning which caused our round to exceed 5 hours.

Hadn't played this course in many years. The fairways are lined by large trees on a lot of holes giving it a Michigan feel. All of the flags were red so there is no way to tell where the flag is on the green. The greens had been aerated relatively recently but that did not affect the putts too much. Overall, the greens and fairways were in good shape. The clubhouse is run down and the carts too. No GPS. The par 5 9th and 18th are just so long. Tough finishing holes for each 9. Course was in better shape than I expected.

This course is a nice test! Lots of terrain change which is unusual in the Chicago area. The greens were a little furry and are generally soft and slow. Run an 8 on a stimp meter.

Played 20 years back, best value course in south burbs. Stopped playing - heard it went into disrepair and became a dog track. A few years back started playing but reviews were not great. This year decided to give a try as I heard it was on the upswing. While the cart paths have a little to be desired, the fairways, roughs and greens were all in good shape. The layout, up and downs make it a real challenge and fun to play. Still needs some work but definitely worth a play or two….

Very hilly challenging and not boring course.

Some of the bridges and car paths need a repair, however course is well maintained.

One of my favorite courses in Chicagoland.

Great challenging layout. Greens are really perfect and getting first putt close is important. Play some traps as GUR. Tees, fairways and rough are in good shape. Cart paths are in need of replacement but who cares as everything else has been taken care of.

Get a good deal from Golf Now and enjoy this superior tract.

Given the recent weather issues the course should have been closed on Monday. All the workers were trying to clean tree debris and cut very long grass.

I paid for 18 holes but quit after 9 since it took 2 and 1/2 hours and the 3-some in front of me took 20 minutes to play the 10th. By the way, somehow a FIVEsome of poor golfers were in front of the 3some.

I was not in the mood for a 5+ hour round.

You cant book regular volume when your course needs storm repair.
