Good bang for your buck
I golfed this course 22+ times last year. I like to call this course my “summer backyard.” It’s not too easy especially hole 9. The staff is awesome and respects their returning customers. They like to get to know you and show they care you are there. It’s not as expensive as courses surrounding it. If you decide to go around again it’s only 17 dollars more, meaning it’s only 50 dollars to play 18. Plus they have different tee boxes for the “back” 9 which for some holes changes how you swing off the tee box. The nature you see there is beautiful and probably my favorite part. There are many different types of trees that make it scenic. Plus due to the water that runs through the middle, and a couple other water spots, you see a lot of animals. I have seen swans, turtles, beavers, geese, raccoons, ducks, deer, frogs, fish, and many MANY types of birds. Heck I’ve even seen coyotes! (Don’t worry they don’t come near you). Yes the course is in rough shape but it’s playable and they put a lot of their money back into it to make it look nice, and it shows. Go here for a relaxing scenic golf game.
Course needs some TLC
The Sand Traps don’t have sand, but dried up mud. The layout is nice but 3 of the greens are in bad shape. The course has great potential, it just needs some money to fix the sand traps and fix a couple of the greens. Arian at the front desk was very friendly & professional.
Cow Pasture
Very disappointed that this course has been neglected the way it has. I have driven by for over 30 yrs and always seemed manicured but it is absolutely horrible conditions.
Bunkers and bare spots
I enjoy this course, but it needs some work. The bunkers are no longer sand traps, but rather dirt or mud traps. Like wise some of the greens need work.
Really fun course just needs a few little touchups. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant has some good items.
Not a good spot to golf
Tried this spot 3 times and got worse everything. This was the last straw tees were garbage, and un maintained. The player who go there are also rude and like to cut ahead of you and slow the pace.
The ranger tried to yell at everyone except the players who were slow. Dont recommend this spot and will never come back. Save your money
Staff is awesome course is trash
I hate to say it but the overall course was in bad shape. The greens were beat up and the overall course was shot. This course has so much potential but it needs a lot of love
Had a good time.
Pretty descent course. Some challenging holes with lots of water and sand traps. Pace of play was good.
Great Layout, Rough Condition
Palos Country Club was a longer 9-hole course than I am normally accustomed to, but it provided my golf partner and me a great challenge in terms of the layout. However, the course itself has seen better days, the greens grass was dead in many spots, the roughs were more than rough, and in some cases, it was tough to distinguish where the fairways ended, and the roughs began.
If the condition of the course was good to pristine, this would have garnered a 5 star rating instantly.
If you've never been to Palos Country Club, I would recommend trying it once just to say you challenged a longer 9-hole course in the Chicago suburbs and see what your score is at the end of the round. If the course itself was in better condition, I would recommend a repeat trip.
