Golfer Reviews
The best course up north by far and it’s fantastic.
The course is an absolute blast. Everyone in my group enjoyed it. For two of our four players, it was a first time experience for them but I’m certain that they will be coming back. Me personally, I love this place. It’s my favorite golf course on the north side of Chicago and it’s well worth the drive regardless of where you’re coming from. I love it and so does every single person I’ve ever played with at this course. It’s a total gem like nothing else around. With the exception of Thunderhawk, which would be down the street. It is similar but twice the price and not in good shape like this is consistently. In addition, Mr. Allen Parkes is the best general manager I’ve ever met in my life. I see that man doing more work at that facility than anyone at any facility in my entire life. I have been in the Golf industry for 20+ years and I have never witnessed anything like him before. He has no problem watering the putting Green then five minutes later aerating it by himself. 30 minutes later, I would see him again out running the beverage cart. There is nothing that that gentleman doesn’t do. He has an amazing facility, an amazing staff and most importantly an amazing attitude about the golf course the game and the way customers are treated at his facility. If you don’t know, Allen, you’re not as lucky as I am because he’s amazing. Mr. Parkes thank you so much for everything that you do as well as continue to do. You are a true gem in the industry and somebody to look up to.
Great Course at Reasonable Price
Always enjoy playing a round here. Nice choice of tees depending on your age and caliber of your golf game
A wet coarse but allowed to still play
The coarse allowed us to play not even 90 rule.
It was wet in spots. It was in good shape even though it seems many don’t replace their divots.
Greens have some undulations that can challenge you. Nice coarse overall. 1st time I have played it
12 min tee time intervals - thank you
Standard for tee times is 10 minutes, but you have so many courses cramming people on shorter intervals where they are waiting most of the time. This is the first course I have played that did the opposite. They run on 12 minute intervals and it was so enjoyable to be able to golf without waiting for groups in front of you, worrying about people behind you.
I played as a single and most of the time as a single I'm required to share a cart with a stranger because the course is cheap and doesn't buy enough carts. Not here - had my own cart and it was a breath of fresh air. It's so refreshing to be a patron at a course that actually seems to care about the golf experience, and doesn't throw it under the bus for an extra 10-15% profit.
Course was in perfect condition. Greens were medium speed - not fast. Tee boxes were in excellent shape. Rough was thick around the greens, about 2 inches thick around the course. Fairways were in good condition and well watered. Carts were equipped with GPS - although it was the TagMarshal one which is more of a pace of play alert system with ads. No coolers or ice provided, no water bottles provided, and no water out on the course. It is not a resort course rather a local track in a less populated part of the metro area.
This is a links style course, you will not have dense forests running along the sides of holes to avoid. Layout was OK - it was a fair course, holes 9 and 18 were both long par 5's into the clubhouse with difficult greens to approach.
Biggest downside to the course is that it's adjacent to a dump. You can smell the dump on many holes (my playing partner said it's really bad on sunny days). You can hear the dump trucks beeping up throughout the round.
Great Course for a Fair Price
The course was in excellent shape despite getting much play. There are challenges on every hole, but also room to hit good shots and score.
The staff was friendly and things were very efficient. A very good course for a first-timer, and terrific value for the price. Highly recommend!
Really Good, Challenging Course
Really impressed with this course. It's in great shape - tees, fairways, and greens are all excellent. I'd rank it as one of the more challenging courses in Chicago, with three genuinely long par 5s that test you and a 200+ par 3.
The only downside is no driving range, which is a real miss for a course at this level. Everything else you'd want from a top-tier course, this one delivers.
Great course
Live 58 miles away , but make my way here about -0 times a year
Fun layout , always in good condiition
Play about 30 different courses a year and this is one of my favorites
Only comment , another course that makes Fridays a weekend rate and no senior rate until after 1:00
I wonder if all these courses pay their employees more for working on Friday - guarantee they don't. But this is a popular trend with golf courses but not their customers
