Great Course
The course is amazing and really test your skills as a golfer. The starter provided a ton of useful information,
however there was so much that it was incredibly difficult to remember it all. One disappointment was the fact there was no water available on the course or cart person out driving.
Tough without hole GPS on cart.
Great course great conditions but very hard to navigate holes without GPS system on carts. For price this should be added to carts Lots of blind shots esp to sand traps
Beautiful and challenging course!
First and foremost, we really enjoyed our round. Staff inside were very helpful and friendly. Driving range, putting range and chipping range all excellent. Course is one of my favorite.
Starter needs to feel important. Told us to finish our first 9 as a foursome in 2 hours. Of course, we just laughed. Said we would move as fast as the course permitted. No-one knows if there day will be good or bad. The starter let another foursome go off right behind us and we were 15 min early.Note to the starter if you don’t send off in 15 minute increments that is your problem. Or allow individuals to start later than tee time. Root causes bud.
It’s a tough and long course. It’s going to take normal golfer 4 1/2 hours at best.
None the less, wonderful place to play a round. And again would have been all 5 star if not for starter.
Hidden Gem!!
Course was in fantastic condition and not very busy. Played by myself greens were extremely nice and held well. The course is over a hour from home but worth the drive. I seen three deer as well very cool. Thanks I will be back soon.
Awesome course
Course was in great shape. Greens were great. Will definitely play again
Nice course, but expensive now
I love Bear Slide, but it’s now $110 during prime time hours. Too steep for a public course in central IN. You can play local private courses for far less if you know a member. Then again, almost all courses in central Indiana have price-gouged in recent years.
Bring your game
This track has always been a treasure. The greens are firm and fast. There are at lease 4 par 4's that are a good challenge and 2 par 3's that are an equal challenge so look at the card and choose your poison carefully for an enjoyable round. if you do, you will be rewarded with a great layout and get a good test of your game. Long but fair.
Awesome Course!
We hadn’t played here this year. That said, we have done ourselves a disservice. The course was in great condition and the greens were near perfect. The only bad spot on the course was the 17th green, which has partially burned out. There’s a section where there’s literally no grass. If marked a ground under repair there’s still room to make the green playable.
Beautiful course
A very beautiful course and well maintained. Definitely try and keep it in the short stuff or it will be impossible to get the ball out!! Definitely looking forward to playing it again.
Good shape, old but functional carts
I’ve played Bear Slide a fair amount and this round just happened to be a hot deal so it was super cheap and well worth it. The course is always in pretty good shape. But the normal prime time price of $107 is pretty ridiculous. Unfortunately most public courses in the Indianapolis region have become ridiculously overpriced. You can play most private courses in the area for less if you know a member.
Bear Slide, No Grizzly
Played 18 with my father and we both had a wonderful time. The links style course is challenging but approachable for a higher handicap.
Even though we caught some rain on the front 9, the back 9 was clear and the course showed its true colors. Beautiful fairways, neat bunkers, and greens that rolled true.
I would definitely recommend Bear Slide to anyone looking for great public courses in the Indianapolis area.
