Closing on haloween
We have not been out here that much this year. I don’t know why, but you only have pretty fair deals on GolfNow but the wife always kinda likes especially the new nine on the east side of the street which is nice built in 1994 The newest nine we played the oldest first hundred years old next year.
I was pretty disappointed with the leaf disposal. They just blow them. They don’t get them out and put them in the woods or whatever so we had trouble finding our ball several times. The greens were fine. They were rated, but must’ve been done quite a while ago cause I healed really fascinated were the smaller ones so you always have a pretty good time coming here. It’s nice and quiet along the lake for the most part that had a pretty good turnout for Friday afternoon. I like the old clubhouse reminds me of Stuckey’s you remember those restaurants building?
I would recommending building a little shorter ladies tease, and have the seniors go off the ladies tease the red ones currently cause there are some very long holes there for not only the wife of myself actually I don’t enjoy hitting three woods after my drives all the time several holes are about seem like they’re 400 some yards
I’m gonna put a little plug in for a bakery up on Stoney Lake Road about 20 minutes north I think it’s Woodland bakery has absolutely the best cherry turnovers I’ve ever had in my life been going there for a couple few years
Law and order it’s a very nice old golf course 27. Also should be able to get out even if it is pretty busy.
The Woods and The Valley
Love the 100 year old course and then across the street for some challenging holes. Staff is always great.
Course was well maintained
This course was fun to play, with interesting hazards made up of elevated reeds and brush promontories in the fairways in addition to sand traps. The fairways were wide and all of the trees were mature. The greens were very well maintained and moderately challenging.
Woods / Valley
Great course. Pace of play was decently well for a holiday weekend. Love that the carts don't have GPS. Speeds things up. Great spot.
OCT GC
Great course for the money- it was in great shape.
Chris is awesome
Old Channel
The course was in great condition and played well. I was impressed with the quality of the greens. The par fours seemed a little too plain.
Unfortunately, there was some tree removal being done right next to a green and tee box. Otherwise, it's a great course and provided a great value. I certainly would play it again!
Summer play
Enjoyed our round at Old Channel. Good local course. Staff friendly and helpful. Played the Woods and Valley nines. Best of the three.
Greens smooth and moderately fast. Fairways ok, not great.
This course is in great shape!
Very personable young lady at check-in. The course is in great shape and beautiful views on almost every hole. The greens were in great shape as well.
Enjoyed a great round with my son, who blasts the ball past mine now. Wonderful memories made on a memorable course.
Thank you Old Channel Trail Golf Club!
Good Times
We started off in clear weather but knew it was going to change. It did on the second hole. It was a light rain the rest of the front nine. They let us leave and come back later that day to finish the back nine. We were camping out at Muskegon State Park. Went back and finished the round under ideal conditions. Thanks.
Great Value
I played the Woods and the Valley nines. The Woods is a pretty plain golf nine, but the Valley will get your attention! Courses were in good shape but the tee boxes were looking well used. It is a great course for the money, and was not at all busy.
A nostalgic course held back by poor management
The course has much to offer with historic qualities and varying style of each of the three nine-hole courses and ample practice area(s). The great value for the amenities and serene course is held back by a lackadaisical approach to tee time scheduling, course play management, and user experience.
