Opened in 2006, The Ledges Golf Club offers championship golf with stunning views of the surrounding sandstone mountains, reminiscent of the area's nearby national and state parks. Conditions here are top-notch, and even more impressive, of course, are the views.
They no longer play the PGA Tour's Humana Challenge (formerly the Bob Hope Classic) at SilverRock Resort in La Quinta, California, but that doesn't mean SilverRock has become irrelevant. In fact, the Arnold Palmer design, which opened in 2005, remains one of the premier playgrounds in the Coachella Valley. The fairways skirt deep bunkering, the desert landscape, and most impressively, the Santa Rosa Mountains. It takes extra effort to play golf and not to get caught up in their grandeur.
Legend Golf & Safari Resort's Signature Course -- which shares the backcountry with exotic creatures including zebras, antelope and birds -- is the epitome of "golf in the bush" in South Africa.
